This summer im taking my DCR VX2100 and my new 100b and im going to go somewhere with my earnings from filming weddings, commercials, music videos and other things. Im from Tampa, Florida and i want a cultural change, i am leaving America, and i was curious where i should go, im surious if anyone has any suggestions as to where i could go. What are your favorite places or most beautiful? I am looking to make a video during this, and i might need someplace cold, any suggestions?

If I was you I'd go on a road trip across the country to Alaska. I've always wanted to do that and I think the gas prices went down a little too.

Let us know what you decide!

Alaska is AWSOME .. definatly worth the visit if you can make it.
If it's road trip (with LOTYS of driving) you want, try this:
Drive up the Al-Can highway up to Fairbanks, then head south through Denali National Park and stop off to see Denali (Mt Mckinly [sp?]) Keep going south through Anchorage (stop only if you have to :P) go to the Kenai Peninsual, great stuff there. Then head back up to TOK and down to Haines. Get on a ferry and ride south through the panhandle (AKA: S.E. Alaska) making time to also stop in Juneau [I'll be there], Sitka, and a couple of other places on the way south.
Short version: Drive up the al-can again, but take a left turn in Whitehorse BC and head to Skagway. wirde the Whitepass railroad and then hit the ferry south. (again stopping throughout SE-AK)

Alaska rocks! I was born in Fairbanks and love to go back to visit. It's absolutely stunning. It's definitely a "must see" place.

Thanks everyone for the advice, im definately currently leaning towards alaska, it sounds really good from what you all say and if i go ill be driving and if i go im taking mikkowilson directions. I would appreciate it if you all would continue to give me advice and ideas. Thanks alot.

There's a cool book called "1000 places to see before you die". I suggest you check it out, it has some very cool spots.

Thanks all for your advice and whatnot, im seriously leaning towards alaska with my crew for a film, but my fiance hates the cold, any advice on any warmer places? Ill be in alaska for half of summer and somewhere else for the other half. Thanks again!

Singapore is one of the most beautiful city's in the world - also one of the safest and cleanest. Indonesia (in spite of the sporadic problems) is one of the most fasinating places I've ever been.

On the other side of the world, the Scandinavian (sp) countries have my A+ vote.

Actually i am 16, and yes i am engaged, my fiance is 17 and her name is Rachel, hates the cold and hates being on tape which is odd she and i would be togeather. I know it seems odd that she and i are so young and engaged already, i take **** for it on a regular basis but i really need a cool location to take her this summer after i get back from my filming trip, thanks for the curiousotiy though!

Assuming the 16 pointed out above is a mistake I only have one suggestion: bring bug spray - lots of bug spray. Mosquites breed like nothing else in the summer time and there are TONS of them up there. Winter is better in that regard. Also, see if you can find a local with a dog sled! Those things are so cool and the dogs are awesome!
