Where is Steven Dempsey?

I've been so amazed over the years at the quality work of steven Dempsey, and the contributions he has made to this great community of indie filmmakers with his Al and adapter combo, and was wondering if he is still around and if he has been bitten by the dslr bug. Would love to hear from him himself or anyone else that may know what he's been up to.

I'm still around. I have been immersing myself in photography over the past year and have been shooting very little video. I've been doing some gigs here and there but mostly editing and corporate shooting work.

I really felt like I said everything I needed to in the short nature films I made and some of the more recent instrospective ones. There's only so many times I can create the same basic movie :) I decided to quit making those kinds of shorts before I became a self-parody.

I've recently become interested in shooting video on my Canon 5D Mark II and the motion bug has bitten me again.

My family and I are moving soon (staying in the neighborhood) so that is occupying my time right now. I'm not gone and I appreciate you asking. I just get bored easily in the creative realm and if I'm not doing something that is truly inspiring me, I kind of stagnate and that's what happened. Sometimes you just have to stop and take stock and then move on with some new ideas.

Watch this space.

wow, ditto on that part, where is the good ol disjecta?

It's funny, I have a gig with my A1 this weekend and was wondering the same thing.

I've worked with a few random shooters and had this conversation, "Let's sync our cameras, I have this cool setting for the A1..." "Oh, you mean vivid RGB?" "Yeah, that's the one"

That's the internet for ya.....

Stephen, got any cool DSLR settings? :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG):Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Miss having you around Steve, for what it's worth. Let it make you feel happy!

Thanks for responding steve. Your a major reason I'm even making movies, as before I'd ever touched a camera I witnessed your great story telling through the dvx and believed that it was possible.

Glad to see you got a hold of the 5d as I couldn't see you being without one of those being that your work has been stills in motion. Wish you and your family well, and look forward to your future work.
