I work in Avid MC 4 on a DVCPROHD project with P2 material from HVX200.
On After Effects (Mac) graphics were made for me and exported as DVCPROHD, but I cant open the .mov on my Win XP system and Avid MC.
I suspect on the AE system the DVCPROHD codec is missing, where do I get it?

Apple doesn't provide a DVCProHD codec for Windows users.

Is there any opportunity to have the footage provided on a PC friendly codec you know you have?

And the Mac DVCProHD codecs are installed by Final Cut Pro.

This is about After Effects CS5 on Mac transfer to Avid MC 4 Windows.
The graphics guy doesn´t have Final Cut, only AE.

I need to integrate his graphics into HVX200 DVCPROHD 1080p25 material (which is really 1440x1080). Graphic gradients can´t be used as 1920x1080, since edges will show.

Where is the Panasonic DVCPROHD codec site?

Thanks, but I only need the DVCPROHD codec. Doesn´t Panasonic have it somewhere in the web? As free download?

No, at least not for Windows. It might be because DVCPROHD is within a Quicktime movie so it's provided by Quicktime/Apple and they don't provide it for Windows users. Panasonic lets you view DVCPROHD files as P2 MXFs with P2 Viewer, but this won't work with DVCPROHD quicktime movies.

This is why DVFilm created Raylight Decoder/Encoder Pro to fill that gap in Mac/PC workflow for PC Users.

You can try out the demo of Decoder here to see if it works for you. It's only $45 dollars at the moment.

As everyone is stated, Panasonic does not provide the codec for Mac users. Only Apple does and that comes with an install of FCP.

The codec is freely available on Windows, just install P2 Viewer and it installs the DVCPRO-HD codec.

The problem is that Apple makes Quicktime, and Apple's Quicktime DVCPRO-HD files are proprietary to only the Mac format. Apple does not provide access to the DVCPRO-HD codec from within their own Quicktime software when on Windows. Apple provides the codec for their Mac platform but they refuse to provide access to it on the Windows platform. So once you make an Apple DVCPRO-HD quicktime file, you're locked into the Mac platform.

Raylight is the easiest and best way around that.
