Where do I buy my T2i?

Is the T2i going to be made available with the 18-135mm kit lens like offered with the T1i and 7D? If so, does any retailer have one in stock now?

I recently bought the t2i with the kit lens from best buy. I had a 10% off coupon and saved around 90 bucks. It was origianlly 899.99 plus tax and I think I paid around 850 after taxes using the coupon. I didn't really want to buy it with the kit lens but they didn't have the body only version in stock. Check on bestbuy.com for in store availability or you may want to call because online it said there were none at the store but when I called they said they had a few in stock. I'll email the coupon to anyone that wants it, just send me a message saying that you would like it and your email address. On the fine print on the coupon it says they will not accept copies but they sure didn't hesitate to accept the one I printed and cut out on regular printer paper and took to them. It expires at the end of may. But its only good for in store purchases. You can also use them for camera accessories, but not for lenses i think. I just called up to the best buy near me, asked them to check if they had it in stock, asked them to hold it for me at customer service, I printed out the coupon, went straight to the customer service desk, it took all of maybe 3 minutes and they didn't harass me at all about the coupon, just scanned it and gave me the discount. By the way, if you have a best buy card, you will get 18 months interest free financing, so thats the route I took. Just pay about 50 bucks a month and its paid off without interest.

I waited for B&H to open up after Pass Over and the T2i was out of stock. I went to Bestbuy.com and got it in two days, with the 18-55 kit lens. I like it.

Rant Alert.

I bought one through Amazon reseller Beach Audio. If you go online to avoid the sales tax and it ships no problems, great.

But if you're like me and you order online and it shows up f'd up, then it's a total hassle.

My kit lens makes a very soft grinding/velcro-like sound when you zoom in and out. It's probably not that big of a deal... but man, a new lens shouldn't make any noise. I just know it's going to drive me crazy.

So now I'm having to return the thing.... which I don't know if I want to do since there may be a 10% restocking fee. Should I do warranty service at Canon? They also said it may take two weeks to credit my account. Plus I have to pay for shipping and insurance.

I wish I would have bit the sales tax bullet and gone to best buy... which is what I plan on doing once this mess is resolved. At least with Best Buy you know you can take it right back and get another one right away if the plastic is opened or a lens sounds cracked. Canon doesn't seal these boxes right? So you don't know if they've been opened or not. Course looks like they got a restocking fee as well.

This comes after selling my T1i. Got that from B and H in Dec. When it showed up, it had clearly been opened - the plastic bags were all neat, yet cut open. Online ordering is great when it works out for a $900 camera, when something goes South it's a headache.

What the heck does it take to get a pristine camera that hasn't been opened or isn't defective in some way?

Text "OFFER" to 332211 to get the 10% off coupon. Expires April 19, 2010.

TIP: If you purchased one at Best Buy in the last 30 days, they will price match. It was worth my trip to get 90 bucks back!

I was wandering on the bhphoto website and I looked up the canon t2i. The body was back in stock! So i quickly ordered it. Immediately afterwards, the in stock button was gone. The order is still processing (ordered on Friday) who knows if it was a mistake or something haha.

can anyone tell me if the B&H store in NYC might have one in stock? I am down in the city for the night and might make a trip over there to fool around with a store model if they have some, posibly pick up a body.

Website says out of stock for both kit and body-only.

Hey guys,
Does anyone still have an active discount/coupon for the T2i? I want to pick up one soon and would love not to pay the sticker price.
Thanks.
