if anyone is interested, i just purchased my dvx100a from willoughbys.com in new york who is an authorized panasonic dealer =)  i paid $3298($3342.95 w/shipping).  My salesperson was Nar(ext. 215) and he was a pleasure to deal with.
That's a great price for the camera. However, I just checked out their accessories and warranties. My advice, look elsewhere for those. They are WAY over priced.

Re: Where Did you buy your DVX100?

B&H...great, as usual but I'm pissed they never told me the new model was coming out within a month or two after I bought mine

Re: Where Did you buy your DVX100?

I just ordered mine from fotoconnection.com for $3049.00 plus 3 day shipping for $49.99 = $3098.99. It's not grey market, and has full Panasonic warranty (90 day heads / 1 yr).

I was going to get a Mack 4 year warranty from another place but decided to buy the Repair Tech 4 year warranty for $235 because they have local repair shops in Los Angeles, unlike having to send your unit away for Mack. And they will replace the unit with a new one if they cannot fix it.

So my complete purchase was $3343.99 with 4 year warranty, and the guy on the phone was super nice. He did not try to get me to get the warrantly, I had to ask for it.

I get the camera on Monday and will report back. It's my second DVX100.

I originally ordered one from bwayphoto.com, and after quoting me a price of I think $2800, then I found out it was grey market.. I thought about it, then said fine. Gave him my credit card info, and then he told me shipping and insurance is $280 extra!!!!! What a ripoff those guys are!! I canceled on the spot and went with fotoconnection.

Re: Where Did you buy your DVX100?

Ordered mine from Profeel. Didn't try to push too hard to sell accessories and shipped very quickly. Overall I had a great experience.

Re: Where Did you buy your DVX100?

OK.. got my camera from FotoConnection and it IS grey market. The guy on the phone lied to me. Camera came with the wrong manual (a photocopy of the DVX100 manual).

I sent back the el-cheepo battery they tried to pass off on me as the CGRD16A (which it wasn't) and they refunded me $49.99.

So my total for a DVX100A (Grey Market) with 4 year extended warranty from Repair-Tech (www.repairtechinc.com), including shipping was:

$3,487.00 including the CGR-D54 (marked as D55 - Japanese) battery.

Camera works great, I got the extended warranty all for less than I would have paid at B&H, though I would have preferred a little more honesty on the part of the salesman.

Re: Where Did you buy your DVX100?

I would be very careful, if they lied to you about he camera being grey market as well as giving you a photocopied manual and a cheap battery, then that warranty could be fishy as well. They might tell you that they will only work on US warrantied versions and get you screwed like that. Personally I feel a whole lot better spending a few extra bucks and being assured that what I am getting is from a reputable dealer. I would personally send back the camera, being that it is a grey market camera, if you really wanted one, you could get one for about $2600 for the 100a. Basically, if you can catch them in one lie, it's highly probable that they are lying about other things as well.

Re: Where Did you buy your DVX100?

I ordered my DVX100AE at Biz-Max.net. A good place if you want to order from oversee. Great Customer service.

Re: Where Did you buy your DVX100?

Hey All, I wanted to come on here and let you know that the recent problem with our email was due to the switching of the hosts of our email servers. In the process of switching, a couple of our email accounts were disabled for a short period of time, including the sales@evsonline.com address. This problem has however been fixed and that email address is working once again. Or as an alternative, you can email the sales representatives from EVS that visit here regularly.

I apologize completely for the inconvenience that was caused by this error, and am glad to hear that Rush was able to help thunderMex in placing an order with us.

If anyone has any questions or would like to get in touch with me, feel free to email me at webmaster@evsonline.com, or give me a call at (800) 238-8480, ext. 120.

Once again I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and thank you all for your support of EVS.

Re: Where Did you buy your DVX100?

Yessiree, DVXuser site kicks derriere! ::)

After I spouted off about my frustration over EVS (for one) my problem was compounded Monday when Rush responded with an email back to me that never arrived because of my local internet server being down for half the day.

I found Rush's response to my complaints in here and since I had come back to DVXuser.com to look for ANOTHER camera and accessory supplier I decided to let Rush have a shot.

Sent him the list of stuff---he called me in Mexico within maybe half hour or so, and we got down to doin' biz.

Thanks, Rush, I look forward to doing more business in the future. Always more goodies to buy. Looks like I finally became an EVS customer after all. Which I had intended all along. And, I got spiffy keen DVX website discounts on practically everything.

I believe Rush also solemnly assured me that any independent film I shoot on my new camera automatically is entered in the Sundance Festival, is personally screened by Robert Redford, and guaranteed at least Honorable Mention, and the Director/Photog/Editor a private hot tub party with Salma Hayek :P or Penelope Cruz, or Both :-*. And all of those perks come from being a DVXuser.com devotee.

By the way, both Rush and I agree the Battery special on the index page can't be beat. PayPal, unfortunately, played games with me when I tried to establish an account months ago. They kept demanding new Verification everytime I tried to complete the setup. I went round and round with them trying to activate an account and gave up.

So, I tried to set up another account today based on a credit card JUST SO I could order a couple of the batteries from Vancouver. Then PayPal informs me that ANOTHER account has been set up using this same credit card. However, due to a software glitch they were referring to MY account that I had just authorized.

To this point I cannot use PayPal to order those batteries. Is there another way?

As it stands, both our servers happened to go down one after another, big misunderstanding as usual... ;)

Oh wait, that's my evil twin in NY. (muhaha!)

Re: Where Did you buy your DVX100?

A&M PhotoWorld. It was a hassle but I got them to send me a lot of freebies in the end. They would probably prefer to never hear from me again.

Re: Where Did you buy your DVX100?

I have been searchin for a DVX100a for a long time. I have been trying to find the best price because well, i am almost broke (I am a student). I recently came across this: http://www.amphotoworld.com/product.asp?id=psagdvx100a

Now, BC SOUND says that they were good. Is this True? Is this price of $2,189 POSSIBLE?

Also, even if it is grey market... what is the downside to that? You get the camera at a good price and can still buy a nice MACK warranty right?

Re: Where Did you buy your DVX100?

If it sounds to good to be true, 9 times out of 10 it usually is, ESPECIALLY in the entertainment field. I almost got *screwed like that over @ Royal Camera.com. That price is more than likely just for the CAMERA SHELL, the'll tell you that you need to buy the lens the eyepiece the battery the strap, tape, etc... all of which YOU NEED!! So they've got you *trapped*, now they talk REALLY fast all of the sudden your order is up to $5,000, with a buncha stuff you don't need *right* away! Don't fall into that trap. Spend the bucks and be treated fair, you might be broke, but you won't feel cheated, PLUS you'll have a DVX!!!!!! WHOO WHOO!! ;D

Re: Where Did you buy your DVX100?

Also, i called Royal Camera two or three times and got a different company each time :o. Somehow they're all connected. As Rick Schmidt says, if they don't have an address on their website, be cautious, ansd do your research! RoyalCamera is out of the Bronx. Check and see where yours is. BTW- pertaining to the topic, I bought my DVX from Royal camera. The DVX100a cost me $3,300 standard warranty, and recieved it in EXACTLY *three days*!! ;D
