F55: When is FS7 section coming? Please.

haha it's so odd. The outrage is rather disproportionate. I used to think Reduser got a bit stroppy but but this is taking it to a new level. That said, I get that there's all manner of levels of users and that a lot of people are asking the same questions and I really understand why the lack of a thread title prefix makes it harder for F5/F55 owners to discuss something specific to their cameras so why not, in addition to an FS7 prefix, have a stickied ' New to FS7/F5/F55?' resources FAQ for each camera at the top of the section? And you can just refer newbies to it without getting all aggressive and grumpy and the rest of us can all still take part in conversations and continue to inform, advise and help each other.
 
Well the F3 is shaped more like a regular Sony Camcorder so obviously it's just trying to pretend it is high-end and trying to hang with the FS7 ;) *

You guys realize the FS100/FS700 have the prefix "NEX", the F3/F5/F55 have the prefix "PMW" and the "FS7" has the prefix "PXW"... clearly Sony themselves see this as the start of a new line. Maybe there should be a Large Sensor NEX, Large Sensor PXW, and Large Sensor PMW sections

Or, barring that, make it:
NEX
PXW
Cinealta (Include F35/F65 if you feel everything is too cluttered)

And then, have a separate workflow forum "Sony Log/Raw Forum" for discussions that are particularly about that subject matter.

It'll never happen.
 
I'm not sure what's going on with the management of the forum. Some of you have been on this forum longer and certainly most have posted more than I have. I hate to say the emperor has not clothes - but it seems like the moderators used to be much more hands on and now there's not much of a presence. Now you barely hear a peep now and then. It could be that hours were cut back on the staff. Not their fault. Business is business. I hate to call it, but that's my guess about what's going on.
 
I don't think the Heads of this site are here anymore just section moderators with limited powers. Just look at the thread with name change requests. It hasn't been touched in over a year and it used to be taken care of regularly.
 
I can volunteer to moderate this section if it will help, I don't mind fixing all the FS7 threads with the right prefix and what not.

Where do I apply? :cool:
 
I would try to go with a .com or .info or something, if possible. .co.uk might seem to England centric.

I registered shotonF5.com, shotonF55.com and shotonF65.com in anticipation of continuing my shotonF3.com series, but, I gave up on that project due to time and pursuing other interests. These were not meant to be forums however, only to show "commercial" work from these cameras.

There's someone here who launched a FS7 website but I forget the link already. Had lots of info on it and pictures, etc..

I don't think folks want a different website for FS7, I think they as well as non-FS7 owners just want this area sorted out.

DVinfo.net seems to be struggling with the same request.

I'd hate to actually run and admin a board, I did it for a while and its quite a nightmare and you certainly need a well sized cavalry.

Oh I don't have an intention of starting a forum. I'm just an FS7 user from the UK and it was free so why not? :)
 
Fs7user.com was registered early on. I looked it up and recognized the name as a member of DVX. Not sure why he hasn't done anything with it. Hope they start a special section here as I don't want to defect.
