When is Adobe support for FS700 and Odyssey 7q coming?

Ah. Good. Although, that sounds a bit odd to me. Isn't it Adobe that need to sort it out at their end?!
You want to quibble semantics or you want a file that works in the program? ;-)

I'm not going to go into the boring details, but in the end it is easier and quicker for us to adjust something in the fie structure to become compatible with Adobe than the other way around. We worked with them directly on the solution.

It wasn't a quibble, I just didn't understand how it worked. I'm pretty retarded when it comes to post stuff that doesn't involve colour correction.

Hi Mitch,
My 7Q has been on order for almost a month, so I should have it in my kit soon. In preparation, is there any issue with the use of FS700 raw footage in Adobe Speedgrade?

Thank you.

Guys, I have to ask you all to stop railing on Adobe. It is not their faulty that our stuff does not currently work in their products and they have been dutifully working with us to help work out compatibility. Please don't be calling Adobe and bugging / demanding that they "fix" their programs to get them to work with our files. This is, in the end, counterproductive.

This is not a case similar to everyone reaching out to Sony to convince them to allow the Odyssey7Q to record 4K RAW. Adobe is working with us, but while I actively encouraged you all to share your feelings with Sony, I am now actively discouraging you from bother Adobe. I hope this sends a clear message as to what is in your best interest to get what it is you and we all want.

Mitch, do you expect these files to be supported in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6? (I'm trying to hold out with CS6 for as long as I can.)

Editing 4k raw in after effects isn't that bad, except I can't play anything back in real time :-). I export to photo jpg , 15 sec clip takes about 12-15min to do @ same resolution and 95% Quality

What is the current problem? AFAIK you can use ACR to open a DNG Sequence and so long as you choose Embedded Profile it will allow you to choose your exposure and range. It will debayer okay (there are some issues but no more than any other DNG format and better than Resolve in some ways). If you want to get all the data out you can look to a profile like cinelogdcp (i think) which plugs into ACR and gives you log out from it.

Adobe CC is a moving target as we all know and there's plenty of scope in the future for much tighter integration, but there's nothing not working here? or is there?

cheers
Paul

Some things make it fully integrated into the new firmware and some things don't. Sometimes new, extra items are included. We thought this would be done and fully integrated & operational, but it isn't. Soon.

As noted above, there are some very effective workflows that are now enabled.

Pinging this one back to life... I'm in pre-production for a film we're shooting this July, so am crossing my fingers that CD and Adobe have Premiere understanding the 7Q's DNG files by then. In the interim, I'm just trying to find a way to preview the camera tests that I'm doing. I don't have Resolve, and don't have the time/patience to sit through the frame-by-frame render in aftereffects to playback in real time. I was hoping Lightroom would do it, but can't even figure out how to import the DNG files as video into Lightroom (I've scoured the web, but nothing...). Anybody have a workaround, just for preview - not editing? For short-term use? Preferably something with at least a simple color correction built in, as the footage is coming in really blue - but tidies up nicely when set for daylight. Thanks for any advice.

Mitch, think my hopes are unrealistic on the "by-mid-June" dream of having a working Premiere solution?

Resolve really is your answer for now. At this point, Premiere integration is in Adobe's hands, not ours. You will need to ask them.
