When are they shipping??

Just wondering when they might actually start shipping or maybe they have. I've been on the Abel preorder list since November. They suggest mid-March as a realistic date.
Any insights?

Echo that. I would have expected many more to be out in the world by now. Anxious to get my hands on that bad boy. Not to mention the gigs coming and going that I could use it on!!
 
Word is that only 80 went out in the first shipment (possibly world-wide). 1000 cams in the first production run. Each one that flies out of Japan gets a hand test and inspection on the ground before moving on to dealers. It will be a slow trickle for the first month, it seems.
 
Theres no way to. But someone told me end of March latest if your on the pre order list. With shipments this coming week, first week of march etc.
 
A few more will go out to dealers this week.....Canon has told me that "the boat" will come in at the end of the month and hopefully will cover most of the dealer's back orders....which will make all the people we have orders with happy.

I just received mine from Rule Boston today. I preordered as soon they took preorders in Jan. They kind of echoed what Jim said about future weeks' shipments.
 
I stand corrected.....the boat is not coming in at the end of the month...they will continue to slowly increase the number of cameras arriving over the next month. Canon is Q.C.ing every camera before it is shipped to the dealers and that is taking a bit of time.
