C100: What's your default interview ISO, Wide DR, AVCHD and no anti noise filter in post?

I ask because I stay around 850-1100 because I am afraid of noise, using a f2.8 or f4 lens. However, I've noticed that with typical Caucasians, keying with a Diva or Rifa, most backgrounds need some light and I am losing a more natural look.

So, if starting in an unlit room, what do you all feel comfortable cranking ISO up to without worrying about grain? Please don't mention Neat plug in since I seldom do the post.

Thanks

I presume you're referring to a lit sit-down interview. With my 300 I shoot 850 and I'm still able to stop down.

Yes, pre-lit but...I'm wanting to go to a more natural, available light look meaning the least amount of umph from the Diva or Rifa so...

starting to crank north of 1800 ISO. My problem is I don't get to see the result since I'm not the editor. Most I can do is import and judge, that's why I asked if others are doing the same, or is it too noisy in AVCHD. Sometimes I notice noise on dark backgrounds even at 850.

Thanks Pave. I don't have a Ninja yet. Is there any downside to cranking up the NR in the menu?

Ned, I've noticed noise in dark areas on my C300 with the live picture on my 17" monitor at ISO 320. These cameras are crazy sensitive and relatively clean, BUT the shadows seem to be noisy no matter what, at least to my eye. And I don't think it's a problem specific to my camera, I've done multi-cam shoots and they all seem to be that way(tweaked NR, re-blacked, etc.). BUT I'm very sensitive to noise in the picture. I sent my first 2700 back to Panny and one of their head guys here in the US went through it because I thought it had too much noise at 0dB. They gave it a clean bill of health and I've never had anyone complain about the picture, so I guess I may be 'overly sensitive' to picture noise.
