What's your computer set up look like?

I was surprised (and jazzed) to discover that - some LED/DLP screens, at least - have a 'blue gun' setting. Or a simulated one, anyway, which is hopefully as reliable as the real thing.

Haven't calibrated mine for the purpose yet, though.

I let my heavily-modified Amiga 4000 go, about three years back. The time had finally come; sold it off to a hobbyist to raise $$$ for the DVX.

Wow, Amiga? Really? I started learning graphics on Amiga then went Mac after the company was said to be going belly up about twelve years ago.

'Been busy upgrading my studio from it's formerly very un-ergonomic single desk, to this U-shaped config.
Got the desks from Bush Furniture, which form a great modular workstation.

Installed two quad core editing stations, each with 30" displays, a new 24/48 Ch mixing desk, and rearranged my MIDI music gear for easy access while accessing recording and tracking. On the right are an array of Kurzweil, Yamaha and Roland gear.

BTW, the only camera I owned that's capable of taking a good still is my XDCam EX, which is what took this picture below. My D-SLR is just too noisy and doesn't color balance well in mixed fluorescent and CFL lighting. :)

Is that a Yamaha S90? I've got the S90 ES and it's an amazing keyboard...

What other gear do you have over there on the right side? :)

That keyboard is a Roland A80. I chose it for the key responsiveness and for the individual key aftertouch.

Synths/Samplers are Kurzweil K2500RS, K2600RS, PC2R/O, Yamaha FS-1R. There's a Kurzweil ExpressionMate Ribbon controller, a Peavey PC1600 controller and it's all tied to a Edirol UM550 patch bay. Not shown is the 15,000 watt sound system it's all connected to. :-)

Here's another angle of our edit suite. To the left is the PC which you can't really see but it does all the CG/Compositing stuff and to the right is the music studio setup for scoring sound mix, etc and center is obviously the main edit station. There's also a 50 inch HD DLP projection screen for clients. I wanted to add a gumball machine but we ran out of money.

There's also a screen to where the center speakers are but we took it off so people can see where the speakers are..duh.

I recently added a projection system and built a screening room for my studio:

This is a 60 sq ft 2.35:1 Cinemascope screen, using Seymour AV Products' CenterStageXD acoustically-transparent screen. Behind it likes 16,500 watts of surround sound speaker system and amplifier drive.

Oh, here's some footage of the screen and projector in action:

Not my personal set up per say, and still under construction; but here's a local High School TV studio control room I'm building at the moment:

The desk & rack were built 2 weeks ago from donated wood, lamination was last weekend (with donated Formica), I also made the track lighting last weekend that went in yesterday along with the placement of the gear. Computer & rack gear installation started today. Hope to have the basic system up and running within a couple of weeks (pending some further equipment & parts due in).

It's a VT[5] centric system, with up to 6 student crew positions in the control room (you can run a full show with just a single operator if desired). Initially we'll be shooting with smaller DV palmcorders in the adjacent classroom/studio, moving up to donated full size DVCPRO cameras in the coming months with full teleprompters. Workflow is fully tapeless from the edits to the VT[5] to the school's local cable TV channel playout server on the floor above. We'll soon be connected for live broadcast, with connections to the gym and eventually the auditorium/theater (including linked ClearCom systems) for live sports and events.

And one of my pre-vis renders just for fun:

This summer I added a Blackmagic Intensity Card to my setup, brought my MacPro up to about 13GB RAM, replaced my CRT with two Dell 24in monitors, etc.

I'm really happy that I can see my FCP timeline on my 15in Production Monitor and my Plasma when I CC. Gives me a good go between for the "actual" and the "optimal" look of each scene.

I honestly can't think of another thing I want for my setup save just more computing power and more HD space. :)
