C100: What's the turnaround time for the Auto-Focus upgrade?

I have a Gig next Wednesday, If I send it off tomorrow overnight, do you think I'll get it on time?

I wouldn't risk it myself - If you send it Friday, it needs to get there, have the work done, and sent back/received before Tuesday night basically. Wait till after the gig

Mine took 4 days after they received it to get the upgrade installed, then another 2 days to get it back to me.... this was almost 2 months ago so I can only imagine the demand has increased since then. Don't do it!

If you're a CPS member they'll bump it up in the line a few spots and Canon will pay for standard overnight back. Even with that I don't think you'd make it in time. Count on not having your camera for a week.

Never do a major "upgrade" right before a job without time to test and a plan B. Makes me think back to this "brilliant" audio guy who also owned a prompter. The morning of his shoot with the prompter he decides to install a new OS on his laptop. Y'all probably can imagine how it turned out… He basically bricked the prompter software and they had to call in someone else.

Mine took only a few hours (brought it to CPS in Willich / Germany in the morning, got the sms that I can pick it up in the afternoon)!

... but, yes ... if you have to send it in, wait until you have at least 2 or 3 weeks time with no gig.

Wait, mine came back with an issue with the ISO after the update, then I had to send back in :/

This! after any major work (and when you buy a new camera) I would recommend giving it a good burn in test before a live shoot. There is a chance you will get it back but you should have a plan for what if you don't or what if it has a problem.

I want to get my Steadicam C100 upgraded so I can start shifting my distance while shooting but I'm going to wait until end of season. I can cope without it for now.

Wow! I had an issue with the ISO also.....basically after about 1600 ISO in standard profile the image would turn green.....I mean I was viewing it on an old green monochrome monitor. When shooting in WDR or Cine preset it happened at 4000 ISO. Is this what you experienced??

Same green screen here. Also HDMI DOA with my TV logic monitor. . Camera goes back Monday.

Well they claimed they have never heard of such an issue with mine. They paid to have it sent back, then overnighted it back to me. The repair said they could not determine the cause of the issue, but adjusted voltages and camera was set to factory standards. Camera is fine now. Maybe I'm just weird but I really wanted a specific answer so I called and they just told me the same thing over the phone. I guess since it's working I'll just have to deal with the vagueness. Good Luck on yours. Seems we can count 3 issues with the upgrade on this thread alone. Hopefully they will start testing better before shipping back.
