whats it worth-gh1 kit

have a gh1 maybe considering selling it... but honestly not sure how much i could get for it...were switching to different cameras at work and im wanting to do the same...

gh1 with kit lens
16 gb class 4
32 gb class 6
extra battery+plus the one that came with the kit.
cieco7 cannon fd adaptor
canon 50mm f 1.8

any thoughts?
i've tried searching the forums for something similar but to no avail...

I think the 50mm should be about half that price based on what I have seen.
 
I bought my fd 50mm f1.4 at around $90. 50mm f1.8 should be about $45. I am looking to buy an extra battery. Let me know if you are interested in selling your extra battery separately as long as it is not off brand.
 
If you're selling, I'd sell sooner rather than later. The new GH model will be coming and a lot of people will hit the market with their GH1s soon thereafter to upgrade.

I honestly have no idea why people even make comments like this, sure panasonic will make a new version but there is no telling when that will happen. Also to the OP you will have better luck selling the Kit lens and Camera body separate.
Body is selling for $600-750 and the kit lens $600-800

I think you could get away with selling the 50mm 1.8 locally (craig's list etc) for about $75.

Sometimes you can get more if you sell things locally to photographers, I've found.
 
I would sell the 1.8 on ebay then... they go for $80+ provided you have the box, papers etc... same price new pretty much. I would put it all on ebay and advertise in the market place... Selling the T1i that way, working very well...

You will get more selling the body and lens separately... but more hassle...

I just sold mine on ebay, the first winnier won body and kit for $1100, he never paid. I had a lot of request for body only and lens only. I just sold the body for $700 and lens for $510.

I agree, why do people just make comments like the new model will be coming. It just stupid with out any date or proof. Gesh!

Fair point, but whether it's the GH2 or the T2i, or some other camera, the principal remains valid.

Yes/No.


IF panasonic were to announce Gh2 today, it would be 2-4+ months for it to even be available and that would be Japan. Now think about when Us/Europe etc. will be getting theirs 6 months? Then you have to think price point which would be about $1400-1500 range.

Panasonic GH1 has not even been out for a year people....... Sit back and enjoy your camera, in 6 more months a year or two when you have fully maxed your camera out then you should upgrade imo.

Also we will have to wait for the t2i to come out, but judging by the t1i that camera feels like a toy compared to the Gh1

Err, no proof, but uh, there's a huge sticky thread at the top of the forum.... Might suggest... SOMETHING coming. I'd bet you $20 a GH2 is announced in March.

Panasonic did officially announce that either the successor of the G1 or GH1 will be revealed next month but it's also true that it'll take a while until it's easily available in the US.

Brand new, the GH1 goes for just under $1190 at B&H and Amazon so you might be lucky to sell it for as much $1,000 but it's better to do it quick because I do think that if you try to sell it in March, you'd be lucky to sell it for $900.
