AE 6.5 and HDV footage

I capture in Final Cut and make my final cuts.....then take what I need into After Effects by exporting the HDV footage from FCP as HDV 1080 60i (or whatever your footage may be) as a quicktime file and edit it in AE. It works yes but if you are asking if you can capture HDV straight off camera into AE, I dont know....I dont do it that way. Maybe someone will answer that.
 
Don't think so; I had AE7 and it couldn't handle HDV; I had to upgrade to CS3. You can always transcode to AVI; that's what I ended up doing anyway for various reasons.
 
I have 6.5 and it handles HDV just fine. I dont capture in AE, But import it yes! I am constantly importing HDV into AE 6.5 every day.
