Whats In the Box Now

My box was labeled PJU and both the book and the Edius disc.
Jeff

Just got the shipment from B&H: box labeled PJU and included both the Barry Green HMC book (thank you Barry and Panasonic) and Neo 2 disc--same as Jeff. Oh, by the way, also included was the AG-HMC40 and I expect "included accessories."

I got my HMC 40 about 9 months ago if i remember right. That must have been before the book was part of the package! :violin:

Heh heh. Glad to see you got your priorities straight.

I intended the humor, but actually since I have a lot to learn the instructional tools (including this forum) are as important as the camera--accelerate learning curve and get the most out of the camera.

Oddly enough, I purchased an HMC40 in Feb 2010, from B&H (PJU Model), received Edius, but did not receive the HMC Book. How is this? :Drogar-Thinking(DBG

If you send me your serial number on a Private Message I will check the serial numbers that I have for the US. Sometimes customers do wander over to the wrong side of the B & H site and purchase gray products. But if indeed it is a US product then we can figure out what happened to your book.

Best,

Jan

The difference between the AG-HMC40PJU and the 40PJ is that the PJ does not have the Edius Software. The books all have the HMC Book by Barry Green. That is all the HMC40s that are brought in by the US company.

Best regards,

Jan

I just got my AG-HMC80 yesterday- complete with Barry's book. Thank you very much Jan. I'm hoping that I can put this camera to as much work as my 150 gets.

Hopefully Jan will be reading this and could find a way to get us one. :)

Keep in mind that this camera when it was launched several years ago, was not managed by me. This book in the box promotion didn't start until somewhat recently. So depending on when you bought your camera, you may or may not be entitled to one. Just know that Panasonic is not under any requirement to go and back fill all the cameras that they sold before the promotion started.

Anyhow, we have started a conversation in the PM area so we can finish up there.

Best regards,

Jan

Understood Thank you Jan for your concerns and quick response. AWESOME!

so i basically spent the original 2000$ brand new and didn't get a book...bummer!
i wish panasonic would just send me one..you know...coz we supported the product at its most expensive point :)

Hi,

Unfortunately that really is not possible. Between the time it was launched and I was not the manager of the product, and the time I was and executed the program, there were close to 5000 cameras sold. I am sure you can do the math, but that is a program that I do not have the budget for. That would be like asking the Toyota dealer that you bought your car from in September at a 5% financing deal to please go back and offer the 0% financing to you that he executed in December because you bought it in September. Nobody can go back and change history, unless you are Superman and can fly fast enough to make the world to a reverse spin and bring Lois Lane back to life.

I wish that giving everyone a book was possible, but it is not. The original product manager didn't think it would help, but when I got the product, I knew that it would. That is why the little how-to videos were done and the book became part of the package. I am sorry that I can't offer the early adopters a free book, but there is simply no budget to do so.

Best regards,

Jan
