Noticed a delay, but wasn't sure where it was happening and or why. Needs a fix. Where did you hear about it, or how did you figure it out?Dunno if you are aware of this, the HDMI output from 1D C has 4 frames delay, making EVF almost unusable. I hope they fix this.

It's a delay caused by the onboard HDMI output circuit. Exactly 4 frames.
Some users have already filed complaints to Canon Japan, but unfortunately were ignored.
Basically if you need to pull focus during filming, the on-camera LCD is the only option.
Very few pro's use this as their main camera. So, they don't spend a lot of time to trouble shoot with it. Also, not being a hot item with the masses, there is no central location for that info to get out to the mainstream. You can find the info here, but you probably won't hear about it from camera evangelists like Bloom and Hurlbut, or click-bate sites like NFS.That is really surprising about the delay from the HDMI. I've never used a 1DC and I've never heard of this problem before. I'm really surprised that this complaint is not the first one made about this camera. None of the rest of the Canon cameras have this problem as far as I've seen. How do people deal with this? Don't people use external monitors with the camera?
Post an update about your favorite gadget. Would be cool to hear your experience.Goin' to NAB - sure there will be lots of new announcements

The delay is such (1/6 a second?) that your brain can adapt for the time difference. It is only in critically timing actions that it becomes apparent. But with a few variables, and a small fragmented user base, not to mention EVF's can have their own delays, it can be imagined that the issue is with EVF. Especially since the camera's LCD is more responsive.
Here, fs700 users experience EFV delays...

That is why I am curious how Marvin discovered the delay.
That is nice of Atomos. The delay happens on both 5D Mark III and 1D C.
The first time I hooked my Ninja with my 1D C, I noticed the image on Ninja screen is apparently out of sync with the on-camera LCD. When I examined the footage captured by Ninja, I found out the audio (fed from 1D C headphone jack), is 4 frames ahead of video.
Atomos acknowledged this issue and confirmed with me that 5D Mark III does the samething, and it's Canon's fault. Later Atomos offered a workaround in a firmware update, which is to delay the audio by 4 frames to keep them in sync.
Can you send them a link to this thread for want updates:So Canon just sent a market research survey on their Cinema cameras. Maybe they are designing their next camera now, and don't have many new announcements?
Can you send them a link to this thread for want updates:

I have not received an email from them, afaik. I did a search with the email address you posted. And I got zero search results from it. I will try writing directly, using it. ThanksI already sent in my review so I can't re-take it. I got it from the Canon Advisory Panel because I'm subscribed to their mailing list. Others got it here (http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?321599-Is-this-survey-legit-30-discount&p=1986421515)
You may want to check your email and fill out a survey for that camera specifically, and link the thread in the notes at the end.
