i'm assuming that any bag good for the dvx100 would work, but i never got a good bag for that one either.

anyone find a good one?

ok, i was going to buy yesterday and i'm glad i didn't. b&h had the hmc for $3799 as a kit with a bag. Today that same kit is $3499!

I was going to buy the camera by itself, use my current dvx bag and be patient on the bag. Primarily because the bags that b&h packages with cameras are usually not so good.

Here's the bag they offer:

what say you? is this a good one? it will certainly work as an interim bag.

this looks kinda pricey, but i know porta brace and love porta brace. $529 for this combo...that's either a sony or a canon in the picture...wonder if it will fit the HMC.

  • CAR-2KB

yeah, i think impact is the "b&h brand." my prob with that bag for the dvx is that you can't really put the camera in it with the xlr cables still in...not good for quick run and gun jobs.

looks like they are recommending this one:

I bought the third one, black its good but its huge Im saving for a backpack.
Do a search here I started a thread a while ago about bags fot the hmc.

Some good ideas here.

I think I am going with a hard case like the Pelican 1510, if only because I do lot of traveling with my family in my pick up truck. Its legal size for carry-on as well.

how does the hoodie work? that LCD hood?

I have only used the hood once. It comes flat, and has to be assembled. It only takes about a minute, but the hoodman brand only takes a few seconds.

The biggest thing I like about the bag is all of the compartments and the various sizes. It really is a veratile bag. I also have a couple of Pelicans, which are great in certain situations, but I prefer to put a bag over my shoulder and it fits really well with run and gun scenarios. My wife prefers her Pelican, so it does come down to personal preference.

funny, i have that same bag for my dvx100 and like it for most reasons, but you can't throw the dvx in the bag with the xlr's still in.

as it turns out i ordered 2 bags...the one in the package...first one in this thread and then the Porta Brace 4...the last one in this thread. i might return the portabrace, but i doubt it...can't really go wrong with portabrace brand.

We use the first porta brace shown at work, we put our dvx100bs in them. never had an problems withh them, very sturdy bags.
