What should you look out for when shooting and your end result is to be on SD?Just using a proper downconversion would be sufficient. No filters, etc, necessary.
As a previous poster mentioned, this almost looks deliberate. I downsize all the time and have never seen anything that bad.
Some lovely videos you've got there..especially the car one.what camera settings did you use?when grading did you sharpen it?any noise reduction or smoothening?I find 720p on canon DSLRs totally useless in many situations, but this video is a whole other world: those artifacts are definitely not what you'll get from a DSLR, even at 720p
this is a video of a similar subject (a car), shot with a 7D at 720p60:

(beware: the sound is hurtful)
and this is a more crude example, again with similar subjects (boats):

the first example also gives you a hint of what you can do if you have to shoot 720p60 and your subject is aliasing-prone: play with focus and DoF
but the best cure is to shoot 1080p, even if your final output will be SD (just use some proper downsampling algorithm, like bicubic, instead of nearest neighbor); 1080p still has moire/aliasing, but it's nowhere near what 720p has
