What TV Shows Use the DVX100?

I was wondering if MTV "Laguna Beach" "Real World" and some other TV Shows use the DVX at all?

I'll like to see the Quality of this Camera on TV.

The MTV show "Wild boy's" exclusively uses the DVX for it's "documentary" feel. I heard that Laguna Beach used some dvx footage (don't quote me on that) but it is mainly SDX900. Don't think the real world uses it, you can tell. I'm sure there are many other shows on MTV that use it as it seems to be very popular with that channel. There are also other shows like American Chopper on Discovery that use the DVX. I don't know how many total, but you can be sure that it is being used quite frequently in television shows.

My other question is, which might be stupid ???
If I was to use the DVX and I wanted to put the Footage on MTV or other Network, Can I edit it on my G5 with Final Cut ProHD and NO expensive video Card? Or do I need to Buy one of those Cinewave Cards to get better quality on the final DV footage? All I want to get is the same exact quality as one of these Shows, just because I never see drop frames or anything wrong at all with their footage. And I do get fuzzy frames and drop frames every so often.

I just need some help on that department. As I will like to get the entire footage in perfect conditions when I do Weddings.

you should get no fuzzy frames or dropped frames on a G5, and anyway once you render high quality before printing to tape there should be no dropped frames at all. I suppose you should chek your FCP settings.

What should the settings be? I am not transfering the footage from the DVX100a to FCPHD/G5, I use a cheap ZR80 to transfer the Footage Capture on the DVX100a, Is this ok? or am I loosing quality by doing this?. So with this in mind when ever I turn on FCP it automaticly sets the settings as default. Is there any thing I need to change? Sorry for all of the stupid questions, just that I want to get the best of my footage once I am done editing. Is there a site page that can tell me how to set up FCPHD for the DVX footage.

just to comfirm sharky's quote, Luguna Beach is shot on the SDX900. The show also sucks by the way.

I'm wondering if the new HBO show called "Unscripted" uses the DVX. The company that produces the show produced "K Street" and the show is directed by George Clooney. You can watch the trailer on HBO's site...it premieres this week. Looks like 24p normal to me.

Yeah, I never said it was good. ;) Boy nothing interests me more than a bunch of spoiled rotten teenagers complaining about how hard their lives are.

I was in So Cal a month ago and luguna beach was on, I think a marathon, It does suck

Family Bonds on HBO is shot with the DVX. There are large number of regional cable shows shot with the DVX. We are in the process of releasing press release on a Cable show in Baton Rouge that has a very high following.

Wasn't there a thread a month or so ago on this very same topic?

There actually seems to be a thread on this topic pop up every week or two. Maybe we should make a list, and then just point everyone to that.

Re: Michael Lieberman's comment about "Unscripted" on HBO - yes, it was shot on DVX. Up to 5 at one time. Most of the look was established in camera (with, of course, some tweaking done in post). As I worked on the show, I'd appreciate any feedback anyone has about it.

Radical Sabbatical on the Fine Linving Network is shot on DVX and in 24P. I know this because my wife was featured in one of the shows.

MTV did a Special with Britney Spears a while back when she released her In The Zone album and the MTV Special was shot on the DVX. I recorded the show not only for the Britney eye candy but during the Special you can see the DVX being handheld in the mirror reflections. I thought that the footage was very film like especially the close ups on Britneys face and the downtown New York scenes.

I'm really enjoying Unscripted, and although I've seen DVX100's in some of the scenes as props I never considered the show was actually being shot on them! It looks great, very impressive.

PrimeTime Live on ABC apparently uses the DVX for some segments ... I happened to catch an episode this evening that used the DVX ... looked to me like it a fair amount of the footage was 30p ...
