What tripod/head will you use with your AF100?

I picked up a 504hd/546 kit last month, and have so far been impressed. Significantly sturdier construction than older manfrotto products I've owned and not loved. Haven't done much shooting with it yet, but what I've done with the head has been surprisingly smooth. Only annoyance is the mid level spreader, which is somewhat awkward, but not a deal breaker by any means.

Sachtler DV6 head on Miller Solo carbon fiber legs- love 'em both, got what I paid for.
Legs spread low like a hi hat, used them like that last night.
Also use them for shoulder mount cameras or with teleprompter and small cameras.

As an aside, +1 for the Manfrotto 504HD tripod head. At around $400, it's hard to beat it. I like the way they've executed the adjustable counter-balance, which is a big improvement over models like the 516.

I agree with Matt. I've used the Sachtler 18 with both the light duty ENG legs as well as the heavy duty carbon fiber legs and the combo has supported everything from my HVX200 and 7D to rental HPX370, HDX900 and F900. It's the only unit I plan on using with my AF100 which shipped today.

Also one of my favorites - the 18/+ is a fantastic tank of a tripod that does a good job of crossing over between ENG and fluid-head narrative applications.

Two O'Connors here a light weight 515 on Sacthler 2 stage legs and a 1030 on O'Connor legs. My advice: spend money on tripod. a good one will last you a very long time and a cheap one will always be nagging you.

I've got a O'connor 2065 on order w/ ronford medium duty legs.... I'm gonna need something strong to hold up my af100 w/ that beautiful Cooke 18-100 T3 Zoom I've got on order.... ;)

I see where you are going....investing for a lifetime......damn...If you ever come to Spain give me a shot and I'll be your personal assistant for anything you need...and I'm not saying this because you have all that great gear on order....I'm saying it because I would love to learn from artists!

Cartoni Focus HD + Miller Solo CF ftw

Had a Manfrotto 504HD for about a week. Never buying anything with the word Manfrotto on it ever again.

just got a Vinten Vision Blue....wow, i love it - admitedly i only have a manfrotto 503 to compare with - but at last i have a tripod that does what i want it to do without a fight breaking out....no spring back, perfect balance is a revelation to me...cant believe i spent so long with a sub par tripod, lesson learned - do not skimp on a tripod - any ropey looking shots now are completely due to user error, i have nothing else to blame...thats the hard bit

Just set up an old Miller 30 on a set of miller solo carbon fiber sticks. I had the libec ls38 for one shoot and it worked fine, I just wanted something a little beefier and with variable drag.

Sachtler Cine DSLR on Miller Solo DV 3-Stage 75mm Carbon Fiber sticks. The Sachtler is everything I'd hoped -- counterbalances a GH2 with 7-14 just as nicely as the AF100 with a 5 lb. Tokina 300mm. And I really can't say enough about the Miller. Just did a shoot with it extended all the way (using a stepladder at 73") and then took it all the way down to 9" from the ground. Unbelieveable. Love it! And it folds to 26" (32" w/ Sachtler).

Also have the Libec RS-250 system which is really very, very nice, but pales in comparison to the above combo.
