what to look for in buying a used DVX100?? help me out

Im buying a dvx100b next friday, it has 1130 hours on it, the heads have just been cleaned, what should i be looking for that might be a problem in the near future?

please help me out

Check ALL Buttons, Tape Deck, and VF.


Or just dont spend $ on a tape deck camera that has that many hours on it.

Id suggest getting one with under 500 hours..
 
that much hours !!! cleaning the head is not a positive thing to do, its very bad, it ruins the head, if that person had used a good tapes and always the same brand maybe he wouldn't need cleaning, but check everything, specially back focus.

Mine dvx100b, soft case shoulder bag, shotgun mic, and a onboard light with 2 batt. for each
all for 1300
 
I got an original 100p off the marketplace on here, minty 100hours, raynox wide angle, two dvxuser bateries, the orignial battery, power adapter, and all orignial cables and remote for 600 lol and it works amazing hahaah
 
Yeah that is a lot of hours. Stear clear. I would say nothing over 100 hours, to be safe.

My 100b has 27 hours and it is a 2007. Sad part I can't do Depositions with it since it doesn't burn the time date into the image. hence 27 hours. Gonna have to 'bay it some time.
 
I always give extra points to sellers who have all the packaging and accessories for a very clean item - I find that level of "anal organization" often means they're very picky and careful.
 
Thanks for the help everyone, but i figured it was to many hours for a dvx100b. I found a dvx100a, with an NTG-2 external mic, carry case, charger, 2 tapes, 2 batteries with 300 hrs for $800

Picking it up tomorrow.
