GH3 What to buy for about $100 from B&H? Looking for suggestions!

Rockin the Boat
I bought a GH3 and the panny f/2.8 12-35 lens from B&H a few weeks ago, and today they issued me a rewards card for $41.96. Time to have some fun :)!

I'd like to get some film-related gear from B&H with this card and add a bit more $ so it comes up to about $100. So it's not a big deal, but what small thing (around $100) would you suggest - not even necessarily related to the GH3 - I buy?

What $100 film-related gear has made the biggest impact, or was simply a nice thing you got? THANK YOU!

Does the GH3 come with a DC solution? You had to buy it separately for the GH2, but it's a good thing to have in your case.

Never can have enough extra batteries or memory cards.

I also like to get small but useful pieces of gear like articulated arms or super clamps when i have a few extra bucks to spend.

Thanks for the suggestions so far! FYI, some of these I already have, or have ordered. I bought a battery grip on ebay, and it comes with two extra batteries and a charger; I'm pretty much set for media (including 64GB class II 95/sec Sandisk), and have a metric ton of clamps and articulated arms :). I don't have any filters - but I'm not super clear on how useful they are... I assume you're talking about UV filters, which might introduce reflections, and I don't know about putting extra glass in front of the lens unless it has some very definite use (and I already have top of the line graduated ND filters). A DC solution is a definite possibility. So anyhow, thanks for the suggestions so far, and keep 'em coming!

Thanks, TheDingo, but I already have the Heliopan and the new Genus both, so I'm kinda set for top-notch vari-NDs :)

Hey OldCorpse,

How would you compare the Heliopan with the Genus ( Eclipse right ? ) ?
I hear they are very comparable ..
Please let me know as I am trying to get one or the other like today haha.

much appreciated.

People suggest UV filters to protect the lens itself from damage. You don't want to get a scratch or a chip on a $1,200.00 lens when a $20.00 filter could absorb that damage and be replaced.

It sounds like you already have a lot of things that would be under $100.00. I doubt you will find many other options from B&H. I might suggest some audio gear but most of that will be well over $100.00. Audio cables and adapters but be a good option. Never hurts to be prepared.

Yes, I'm talking about the new Eclipse. I have both the Helio and Genus in 77mm, and while the Helio was more than twice as expensive, I think the Eclispe is better. For one, the build quality is vastly better, which you notice the moment you pick it up - the Helio is rattly and feels loose, the Eclipse is smooth and solid. For another, the Helio has a very slight, but distinct color cast, while the Eclipse is more neutral. If I had to do it over again, I'd skip the Helio, and just get the Eclipse, but I got the Helio before the new Eclipse came out, and since the Helio was Bloom's favorite vari-ND, I figured I couldn't go wrong. The Helio is still OK, but the Eclipse stomps it, IMHO.

Perfect !!

Just what I wanted to hear. My wallet and I , we are smiling :)
Thanks for taking the time.

TheDingo - I take your recommendations seriously, and that looks good, so it's going on my list of candidates. I'm not in a big hurry, so I'll keep looking for stuff... I might get the Lastolite anyway, though.
