So i shot another test round at our concert last night with our 2 dvx100A's and our little pdx10 :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) Im pretty sure i got all 3 well for sure the 2 dvx in sync and the pdx is really close maybe a few frames off on the TC ahead or behind i dont know yet... I shot squeez, 60i with both dvx, and 16x9 with the pdx which shoots 60i by default i believe. how do i want to set up FCP for this footage, do i need to set anamorphic for the 2 DVX, and do i still need that set for the pdx as well or since that shoot a a non-squeez 16x9 is the anamorphic setting applied to that camera footage as well???

Thanks much

You should be able to use the standard DV/DVCPRO-NTSC 48khz Anamorphic 16:9 preset.

The 16:9 from the PDX10 should be exactly the same as the squeeze 16:9 from the DVX100.

As long as the Frame Size is 720x480, and you have Anamorphic 16:9 selected, it should work.

Cool thanks! I was messing around with making different capture presets and i set one up for 60fps and that didnt seem to work too well... How come i kept getting DF errors and could not find TC when i filmed in 60i, does it still need 29.97 to capture and edit 60i media? Generally how much pre/post roll does there need to be for FC to capture, 1 sec, 2 sec ...?

Thanks again

so are 30p and 60i similar other than the fact that 30p shoots progressive otherwise they are both 30fps then...

Everything the DVX shoots is recorded to tape at 29.97. Period. 60i is the technical term for standard, NTSC video with no progressive capture and no pull-down added. So yes, the primary difference between 30p and 60i is that one is captured progressive (there is a slight pull down added to record 30p to 29.97) and one is interlaced. The reason it is called 60i, even though it is technically 30fps (29.97), is that each frame has two interlaced fields, so there are 60 interlaced fields per second.

Be aware, by the way, that 60i and squeeze on the DVX do not play nice together at all. If you are shooting for 16:9 and want the motion characteristics of traditional video, shoot 30p.

YES after looking at the tape in post i could tell there was something off about shooting squeeze, 60i...

Thanks guys
