VEGAS.. IS AWESOME! who else loves their editing system like that besides Vegas users.. Why is that?? hmmmm

I was hesitant to try Vegas, but instantly saw the advantages, and now have become a fervent proponent for it. It's a very well-thought-out package that has a great workflow.

I just got to a smooth work flow with P.Pro. Havn't been able to get the feel of Vegas. Sorta just clicking around checking things out. Any tips on how the work flow should go with Vegas? I have read where this is not set up like a normal NLE.

Newtodvx100a, you might be able to find a student version of Vergas at your local college/university bookstore.  If they don't stock it, they can order it for you (providing you are a student, that is).

Neither have I. Avids are the ones that crash. No crashing is the most frequent comment I get from clients after we've edited on FCP for several long days... and I'm talking lots of streams of 25 mb/sec uncompressed SDI...

there is definitely a lot of "old" opinions floating around out there...

I would doupt that very many of you recall the out and out war that went on in the early 50's between Ford and Chevy as to which car was the best. I was in High School at that time, and for me, it was Ford all the way.

At this point in my career (and life) I'm on the side of FCP. I wish FCP had some of the things that VEGAS has, but I'm not aware of any system that has everything that every editor would like to have.

In reality it all boils down to one thing. Does your editing system give you the tools that enhances your creativity and makes your client think of you as their savior. Savior? Well, maybe not quite that great!!!

Vegas still rocks with Audio. FCP is good with it.

Truth. I use FCP and am fr it all the way, but the audio in Vegas in absurdly superior...

Yeah. Some places bundle Vegas with ACID, but that's pretty much redundant. Not much you can do in ACID that you can't already do in Vegas.
