What size of file do we upload?

I am wondering what size file is reccomended for upload in this contest, and what dimensions as well? The reason, is I want to experiment before the upload date to get maximum resolution with the correct file size. Thanks!

Can someone help me out here? Anyone know? I would like to render ASAP but I need to know what size the uploaded file needs to be. Thanks! If this has already been discussed, I apologize, and ask that you steer me to where it was discussed.
 
We can't say for sure yet.

Zombie fest = keep your file under 30 MB and submit it however else you want, Quicktime or Wimdows Media PLayer, either 16X9 shaped or letterboxed within a 4:3 frame.

SciFest = submit a 16X9 dvd quality fullsize mpeg 2 with a certain data flow rate.

Who knows which route they will go this time around.

But it will have to be 24 frames and it may have to 16X9 or it may just have to be letterboxed to 16X9 ... that's one of the wait and see clarifiactions.

In either case letterboxing withinn a 16X9 frame to 2.35:1 or something wider is of course oK.

We're shooting for innovation with our new & improved Pencil Aspect Ratio ... I think it comes out to like 8.9:1 or something like that. :)

well you are going to render a full rez AVI or .MOV right?
So just do that and dave that and then convert when announced.
 
We still didnt get it right with Scifest, and I think we never will nail it down to one format for both the DVD and viewing.. so this time we may request both the streaming version and the dvd version uploaded, since some will be in HD.
 
When you say streaming version, do you mean we're back to encoding our own 35-45ish MB .mov or .wmv?

And why have people submit HD? You're not gonna burn an HD DVD are you?
 
yes everyone will submit MOV's to stream for preview, and people submit HD as 264 for streaming, not for DVD.

If people just sent Mpeg 2 SD from a HD master, i couldnt pull a HD streaming video from that.. get it?
