GH1 What size does GH export out to for Posters?

I'm trying to make a poster out of stills from my film I did with a GH1 (filmed in 1080P). When I export out and do the work, it always comes out as only 4 inches. Does anyone know the largest size the GH1 1080P frame can be, without loosing full resolution? Also, could you please tell me how to do it?

I read somewhere that max size print off a 1080 frame would be 6 x 4 inches without losing resolution

Of course it depends on the resolution you're printing to.

A HD frame is 1920px x 1080px, which is roughly 2.1 megapixels. Depending on the resolution of the print, this is not that high.

If you're printing at 300dpi (dots per inch), that means the image will print out at 6.4" x 3.6".

Thank you, Jive. That's an awesome answer. My only plan now is to print it out in 6"x3" to get the best resolution, then zoom in with my SLR, take a picture, put that in my computer, then print that out at a poster size hoping it looks awesome. Is that stupid or genius? Be gentle

Your much better off properly resizing the original in Photoshop.

A 1080 frame is simply not ideal for a poster print. But if you must enlarge beyond what is ideal, then do it digitally. Test out a tool like Perfect Resize to see if that improves your results.
