I'm putting in a bid for a contract that requires "Broadcast Quality." I'd like to use my DVX-100a, but I'd like to bolster my case with the names of shows / films that have been broadcast that have been shot with our baby.
Viva la bam, Rebel Billionare, Dog Bounty Hunter (Basically a lot of 'reality' shows where they gotta run around...)
Dakotapod... I'm pretty sure American Chopper is shot on the DVX because a similar show is shot on DVX, "Monster Nation" and it is also on discovery, so I would assume since they produce both shows, they employ the same methods (ala DVX).
A lot of shows use the DVX, but I think that Wildboyz does it the best. If you can get past the male nudity, its the best looking show out there. I hope they come out with another season...
Cheaters- two DVX are used.
ESPN- alot of DVX used.
BET- they also used alot.
Shiat just about every network uses the DVX. There are too many shows to name. Slowly the XL2 is getting out there.
I believe it was 20/20 that used a DVX for their special on "Saturday Night Live and Ashlee Simpson". Some of the behind the scenes footage showed a cameraman with the DVX, and then they'd cut to the footage shot with it. Looked pretty good.
I swear 3rd Watch switched to it this year. Some of their footage looks like bad GL1 stuff my friends were shooting 3 years ago like in Full Frontal or Spike Lee's Bamboozeled. Some shots are real grainy, like dv in badly lit nightclubs. But the Latina cop is smoking so I watch it when I can.
I've shot a segment for "Insiders' List" on the Fine Living Network, a pilot segment for VH1 and a couple of science news stories for ScienceCentral. Producers are starting to request the DVX. Beats lugging around a BetaSP.
CMT's Popularity Contest reality show wrapped shooting in November for a Pilot Season airing in April. It was produced by Film Garden Entertainment in L.A. and shot entirely using DVX-100a's in 24P with CineGamma enabled (no brainer). Unsure if Standard or Advanced Pulldown. . . Can't remember. Hope this helps.
