C300: What rental fee do you charge for your C100/C300 camera pkg?

I base my C300 kit rental on the rates of a local rental house here in Toronto. I have to match their 1.5 day per week rate. You pay for 1.5 days, get the kit for 7 days. I also found to convince production companies to switch from the Sony XDCAM F800 to the C300 I had to match the Sony camera rate.
I charge anywhere from $2,000 - 2,500/week. My EF C300 kit includes camera, 6hrs of CF cards, 1030 O'connor tripod, 8 EF lens, Zacuto handheld rig, matte box w 7 filters, 5.6" TV logic monitor, 7" directors monitor with a wireless transmitter/receiver kit, and a Kessler camera slider for a 5D.
The entire kit cost me around $35,000 - 40,000 I've been shooting film, video and digital for a long time but have NEVER owned my own camera pkg. This fall when I secured a doc series that agreed to switch to the C300 I went for it. Bought it in 2 days on 3 visa cards. Than raided my old man retirement fund - you know the one for those days when they decide to stop hiring you - to cover the cards. Took me about 13 weeks of rental to pay off the entire pkg. An interesting time.. My girlfriend and daughter thought I way buying a new car. I would never had bought the kit if i did not have the series lined up. Even then, it was a stressful time. I'm pretty happy with the C300 kit but I find now I still need more lenses. Evey gig is different with many demands.

$2000-2500/week for your kit is pretty expensive, but if you can get the rate - by all means, go for it.

Personally, I know I can get a similar kit for about $400-450/day on 3 day weeks. The rental business is tough for sure - want to PM me your info?

I'll keep it on file if a gig comes up that I can use you or your camera package.
