What product to capture Video from VCR

I just discovered that my MiniDV camera doesn't support analog pass through. What product does everyone recommend for capturing video/audio from a VCR to computer. I have heard some of the usb products capture fine but the audio and video get out of sync. I don't want to spend a ton but want something that is decent.

I basically want to archive all of our home videos on VHS to my computer.

Thx

I know JVC has a VCR that has a Mini DV and VHS and a firewire connection that you can use to import your VHS. I've used it before, using Final Cut to capture VHS. There's a step you have to go through, but I have done it. You can also buy a video converter.

I second the Canopus ADVC - I've got an original 100 and it's still going after 6 years. Nice and portable too if you ever need to take it on the road. We use it when pulling keys on set to check against an external monitor too.

So, nice for pass through, but also nice as s-video / component out if needed to external monitor.
