What PL adapters are people using?

I want to get a PL adapter but not sure what is good.

The solid camera one on B&H looks good but pricy and I'm not so fond of the base plate it mounts to. I saw the atomic Camera one on a thread a while ago but a bit unsure as I haven't heard of them and they only sell the one product on their site. That said I like the way it mounts to the rails.

Any feed back and/or links would be appreciated.

I own the Hot-Rod and used it successfully with GH13 & GH2 and the AG-AF. It's shimmable. May go for the thingie from Poland as soon as it arrives and is tested by my cine rental house. Denz is very good but really expensive. Check first if the people who rent you PL-Lenses (if you don't own them) will accept the adaptor you want to use. Seems that there are really crappy ones around that may cause problems.

My advise: Spend more money and sleep better.

Get the Hot Rod Cameras adapter. I have one for my GH-2, AF-100 and had a 5D-PL from them as well. They are well made and have very good customer support.

Hey Mark Smith can you give me a link to the adapter your using? I cant seem to find it.
And Tipota, a link to the Poland thingi??

Also is the hot rod adapter sold with out the base plate? I have the RedRock af100 matte box/ff kit is on the way and the extra base plate seems like a waste of cash..

Thanks for the comments so far guys :)

I have the base Ciecio7 from Poland, shim-able and so far it works great on my cameras (I have 2) and I'm hanging the DigiOptics 18-50 & 50-150 zooms off the front (same as the RED's).

There is a brand new one that he is shipping to me tomorrow that has a micro adjustment built in that you turn to adjust instead of remove and shim. Here's a link to the pictures : http://s1183.photobucket.com/albums/x474/henrykborsuk/PL adjustable/

Once the sample arrives, I'll give you guys the rundown.

The x plate supports the bottom of the camera along the whole length and is not a waste of money when hanging expensive glass off of your camera.

Hot Rod is fantastic quality, and the support is a must have. Here's my Optimo 21-1 on the AF100 with the hot rod!

I just picked up a Zeiss 22-154 and ... well, while I thought it was a massive lens, it almost looks like the Lumix 20mm pancake next to that monster.

Letus is coming out with a PL-Mount to micro 4/3" adapter with back focus adjustment in the next few weeks. A rod support system as well for the AF100.

We have the Hot Rod Cameras Af100 Tuner Kit as well as the Cieco PL-Mount. The latter did not work well with our Arri Alura 18-80mm T2.6 Cine zoom due to back focus being out. The Hot Rod adapter was spot on.

I'm looking forward to checking out the Letus setup when it delivers.

Just wanted to chime in. I run a small rental house and I have rented both the Atomic and Hot Rod Pl Mounts several times over the last couple months. I like them both and the Hot Rods are really well made. I wound up buying the Atomics though and I always recommend them to clients who want to rent or buy. They do everything the Hot Rods do at half the price and the design is modular and really versatile. I also really like how you can build the entire assembly in under a minute without even using a screw driver.

You can check out a demo video I did on my website, www.strayangel.com

Hmmm. Are you talking about the base plate/riser or the adapter itself? I'm not sure, but it looks like you have to buy the mount and riser from Hot Rod as a bundle and you can't just get the lens adapter part. I could be wrong but that's how it appears on the website. One of the things I like about the Atomic is that you can just buy the adapter if, like me, you already have a collection of 15mm base plates. This way, if you don't like the base plate (which I actually think supports the AF-100 just fine) just buy the Mount itself and save some money.
