What media player for 7D footage?

DVI out is HDMI compatible. Get a DVI to HDMI cable
If you want HDMI/Component/HDSDI output during editing get a matrox, aja or decklink solution.

I use my PS3 to review my edited clips on my HDTV. Works like a charm. I think that at 299$ w/120GB hard drive, blu ray player, wifi, USB and bluetooth remote and... uh... also plays games, a PS3 would be a MUCH better value than the product you linked.

Just be aware that the PS3 cannot play footage that came straight from the camera. You need to transcode it to .mp4 @ approx. 25mbits or less.

If your TV has an HDMI output, just get an mini-HDMI to HDMI cable and plug the camera straight in the TV for reviewing your footage.
If your TV only has DVI, you can get an adapter HDMI to DVI. The only problem with that, is that you won't be able to hear the audio from the camera.

will this show me full 1080p on my HDTV? thanks.

Yes. When playing back clips from the memory card.

When in Live View, then the answer is either "almost" or "no", depending if the information overlays are on.
