GH3 What long zoom to complement the Sigma 18-35/1.8 w/ Speedbooster?

I haven't tried the Sigma 50-150, but have read that this lens does have a lot of breathing when zoomed. I suppose that is an attribute of it being designed for stills and not video.

Do you use the Sigma 50-150 with a GH3 or GH4? If so, how well does the stabilization work for you? Do you have, or know of, any video examples that show the stabilization?

Question for all Sigma 50-150mm owners.. Is it your lens have "heavy lens breathing", also??

Or, it is just my piece that is damaged that way?

Othervise is a keeper lens - sharp even wide opened

I also have the 18-35 and 50-150. The tele is... well, it produces great results, but mine has an unbearably bad focus ring (that is apparently normal), so I can only really use it with a follow focus. Really looking forward to an "Art-series" replacement for it.

Breathing is there where zoomed in somewhat, but I really don't notice it.

By "unbearably bad" do you mean the feel of the focus ring is stiff, scratchy or inconsistent? Do you feel this is an indication of poor build quality? I have a few lenses with stiff focus rings and a few that are silky smooth.

It has a strong friction to it, like it's not lubricated at all. I've used a Sigma 70-200 which felt a lot better, and the old 50mm, which felt about the same. Otherwise build quality is fine. The zoom ring is one of the best I've ever used, better than any Canon stills lens I have handled.

That's a drag (pun intended). I have a Rokinon 85mm lens that has a very stiff focus ring, and it can mess up fine focusing. I wonder if a repair shop can loosen this up a bit.

It may be worth taking the lens to a repair shop to see if it can be fixed. Maybe the oil/grease used has gummed up and can be cleaned and re-lubricated.

Well, I sent it back to the store and they told me that it was normal and that they would not send it back to Sigma.

Wow. I had to pay $80 for shipping and they refused to refund this because, as they said, the lens wasn't faulty.
