What lenses "TALK" with GH2, besides Panasonic.

Looking for lenses that communicate with the GH2:

Am I limited to Panasonics Micro 4/3 lenses?

Do the Olympus lenses I sometimes hear about communicate with the GH2?

Any other lenses communicate?

Are there adaptors that provide communication?

Do 4/3 lenses require adaptors to use on the micro 4/3 GH2?

My ideal lens would be faster than F3 / Zoom 25-100+ that communicates with the GH2.

Thank you!

All m4/3rds lenses should communicate, that's the whole idea of it being a cross-platform format.

The question is, will they do what you want?
The lumix HD lenses are designed for video double-duty, which means they are good for autofocus and offer OIS. If you pop on another M4/3, or maybe a 4/3 with an adapter (which Panasonic sells seperately), you might not get smooth silent focusing in real time. Most of those lenses are designed for photography, which are noisy and often a bit slower (unless we're talking about extremely expensive lenses) when it comes to AF.

Olympus, meanwhile, have in-body image stabilization, so none of them have OIS. If you want autofocus and image stabilization, it appears that your only choice is Lumix lenses for now unfortunately. If your only concern is letting the camera control the aperture, you might as well get a vintage Nikon or FD zoom with a manual aperture ring, or a modern G-lens with a proper adapter that allows iris adjustment. But lenses in that range are not so common to begin with.

Panasonic has a new 35-100 f2.8 coming out soon (check 2012 CES) - close to what you want & may be worth waiting for.

Thanks for the info!!
RE: Panasonic Adaptors - do they provide communication, say... with a Leicasonic 14-50mm f2.8-3.5 (which I think is 4/3)?

Also. Yes, I may just wait for the 35-100.

I'm using the RED 18-50 and 50-150 with an adapter from Ebay (from Poland). That combo works super good. Maybe worth looking into...
