GH2 What lens do you guys think this is?

I guess the point is somebody wanted to know what lens was on that body. You id'd it and said a film looks bad. A film that is getti g nice acclaim. The op might have wanted to know what lens it was due to the look it capturred that he liked.

Ah I see, so from "the footage is not impressive" you extrapolate "this film looks bad." I see where your wires got crossed. I think, likely, that Shane's second feature is very entertaining and thought-provoking. I'll likely see/own it. The footage does not look impressive, in regards to overall aesthetic. Of course, you are free to disagree, and we are on a mostly technical forum.

Hopefully that clears it up a bit. =]

Shane Carruth used a GH2 for his film Upstream Color, and I just saw this behind the scenes pic of one of their rigs. It's obviously a novoflex adapter, and it kind of looks like a nikon lens but don't know exactly which it could be. Anybody have a clue?

Just seen that others already figured it out..... Secondly I love the 85mm Rokinon. Is it the best lens, can it compare to top of the line cinema, probably not even close.... For less than $300 though it is an amazing starter lens that looks great. Also nothing wrong with vimeo, plenty of great video clips there.

I saw Upstream Color at Sundance and not only did I think the film was brilliant, but I also thought it looked really good. I was really curious to find out what it was shot on, and surprised to find out it was the GH2. The only thing I noticed that bothered me a bit was that some of the practical fluorescent lights had strobing issues, which sounds like a shutter problem.

I guess it is NOT being shown at the Sundance London 25-28th April as it would be shown on that list I would imagine! Pity, though I may well get the DVD or download would really like to see it on the big screen.
