What laptop and editing programme

Hi,
I'm new here and to video editing etc.
I have bought a GH1 and would like some advice on what laptop and programmes to invest in.
As I intend to try my hand at music videos of solo guitar players I intend to purchase a zoom h4 for the audio.
So basically, what is the ebst bang for buck laptop to buy? I was thinking of a Macbook pro but I have read all sorts of problems trying to get GH1 footage into the Final Cut Express software.
Any help and advice would be great,

Final Cut Express can transcode GH1 clips. If you're looking for native editing capability (without transcoding), then FCE/FCP is not the software for you.
