What kind of lens would I need for this?

For one of my next projects I want to tackle I will need a lens with various focal lengths such as an 18-200mm. But I also want to do split diopter shots under low lighting, but are there any split diopter lenses that go from 18-200 or something just as good about? I looked it up and as far as I can understand, I can hook a split diopter onto a zoom lens and it will work along with the zoom, ready to go. Is this right?
