What is your dream car?

I was supposed to go to Indonesia last month, trip got canceled but if we reschedule, now I know what I'm gonna demand: wheatgrass juice, no red m&m's in the bowl, and by gum, a Toyota Alphard as a taxi!

(I'll settle for a rickshaw, of course!) :D

by the way, if you do go... let me know ahead of time. If you end up in Jakarta or around there, some of my wife's family can help you out at the airport with the lines and such, and maybe set you up with a driver, and a nice non-western place to stay.

Traffic has gotten absolutely brutal in the last couple of years in jakarta though. It was crazy, chaotic, but always moving the first time I went. The next time, it would take us a couple hours just to go a few miles sometimes.

Later,
Jason

Perrone,

I use Zymol Concours on my cars, it was touted at one time as the worlds shiniest wax. Not cheap though, $200 for a little container. Awesome stuff though. It's worth it for high end show cars.

I'm always happy to see a car that makes my Element look PRETTY.

heh, heh... You've just got to see one in person. Most of the one's I've seen though, have a kit wrapping them, lower to the ground, etc.. Seems weird to do that, but they look kinda naked to me without it.

I like them b/c there is nothing else like it on the road :)

Jason

Y'know, I might take you up on that. Normally the companies I'm visiting take care of all travel arrangement, but terrorists love to hit hotels. The Taj that got assaulted in Mumbai? I was staying there the year prior, so they even hit the same hotel I was at. Last trip through Asia, every car entering a hotel had to stop and be scanned in, around, and under, for car bombs. I've been scheduled for Jakarta twice, and each time, within a few weeks of the trip supposed to happen, a terrorist bombing at a hotel happens... they target international hotels, so... yeah, a non-western place might be a good idea!

Hey, I've been to India three or four times... can't be any worse than that, can it?

By the way, while we're filing requests, I'll take one of these too...

I think even Matt Gettemeir might get along with one of those. Doesn't run on crabgrass, but it's about as close as you can get and still hit 60mph under 4 seconds.

I always likened this to the automotive equivalent of the Red One. And they're building an equiv. of the Scarlet, too; the "Model S" is supposed to have an MSRP of only $49,900.
That's it, right there! 313 mile range on a charge...

Yeah. they hit two of them the day my wife and kids left there this summer. But, being out and about with the population, I always felt fine. The last time I went, I brought a buddy of mine with us, and my wife's brother would take us to these nice western places to eat and such. We developed a rule, that if there were more white people than us two in a place, we weren't safe :) Mostly western places and around the western holiday period.

They do the scanning thing in pretty much any large place you go in in indonesia.. malls, western hotels, etc, etc. But, most of those places, it seems more for show than actual preventative measures.

Traffic first time was like controlled chaos. Overwhelming, but always moving. I even rode on the back of a motorcycle once... That was scary :). Difference now is that it's like a standstill. Lot of gridlock. They could fix half of those problems with some traffic lights, and fixing their roads, but anyways... When, they do fix roads, it doesn't last for long. With all the corruption, by the time the money gets down the chain, there isn't much left to put into proper road repair (at least that's the way it seemed to me). One time, we saw people along the side of a road scooping up the "gravel" for the road repairs into their shirts or whatever they had to take back to their house to fix their own driveway :)

anyways [/threadjack]

I am working late and bored as hell.

This is the end-all-be-all for me. I LOVE this car and have since I was a kid. I told my wife when I leave her for a 20 year old in 30 years, this is what I'm buying.:2vrolijk_08:

Nice. Trans Am went from cool to cheesy back to cool again, IMHO. Especially cool again withe the Firebird version and as cherry as the one in this pic.

Here's what I'd like:
Broncos%20001.jpg

1966-77 Bronco. With a redone interior. Maybe dropped on to the frame of something newer / more efficient.

Jarred Land has a nice Scout that he's put a Cadillac Escalade heart in:

and then painted flat black:

(yes, still his actual car ... and his actual wife)

I shot an infomercial once for a company that was making a super-duper-car polish, and to show it off we went to the Shelby factory in Vegas, and tested the polish on a mirror-finish Cobra. Mirror-finish. The whole thing was a perfectly-reflecting piece of polished silver metal. Try lighting THAT...

Holy cow... shooting a car with a regular finish is a chore.... but a mirror finish.... yikes. Still going to the Shelby factory should have been a cool gig.

This is my dream car: '58 (with a '59 T stick shift) Vette - right before they went fiberglass...

I'm partial to the Lotus Exige, and maybe some of the older Jags and the Triumph of course.
Perhaps in my next life then.

That used to be mine too Charli. White on Red till my 20's then then Grey on Black. But I'd like the Bronco for coolness and every day use / utility. I guess I have a thing for round headlights :)

Here's a 56 with the gray on black though I'd like the interior to be grey:
