What is the usual size of holes of 15mm rail brackets or accessories?

I have some cheap 16mm aluminium pipes and I was wondering whether the holes in the brackets used in 15mm rail systems usually about 16mm or greater then tightened to 15mm less to secure the 15mm rails.

I want to see if I can use these 16mm pipes instead and build a shoulder rig or cage whilst using accessories for a 15mm system.

Does someone know what are the usual hole size manufacturers use for 15mm rail systems?

Thanks

Well of course there actually is a bit of wiggle room otherwise nothing would ever fit into anything, would it? But there certainly isn't room for 16mm rods.

If the hole didn't have the cutout accomodating the clamping screw (allowing the hole to open up some), it would be virtually impossible to insert the rods. Conversely an oversized hole would apply significantly less friction once clamped. Back when I was involved in the manufacture of technical parts tolerances were usually +-0.02mm or less.

Rods are far from being the most expensive component of a 15mm-based rig, why mess with alternative options that are likely to have compatibility issues with pretty much every other component in a rig?
