I agree with a lot of films on this already long list. Airplane lines run through my mind all the time....."looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking"
character 1 to Leslie Nielsen -"Surely, you can't be serious?"
Leslie Nielsen- "I am serious...and don't call me Shirley"
I'd like to add Goodfellas....Joe Pesci's lines in particular (the whole bar scene with Ray Liotta is a quotefest..."I'm here to amuse you...I'm like a clown to you" etc etc. And to add to Taxi Driver as one of the most quoted lines ever, I'd say Scarface is right up there......Al Pacino - "Say hello to my little friend!"
Arthur:It would have to be a 747.
Cobb:Why is that?
Saito:Because in a 747, the pilot's up top, and the first class cabin's in the nose, so no one would walk through. But you'd have to buy out the entire cabin. And the first class flight attendant...
Saito:I bought the airline.
Saito: It seemed neater.
"This is my weak arm"
"What did you do with him?"
"I let him go"
Commando
"My name is Maximus Dessimus Meridius...father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife, and I will have my vengeance...in this life of the next"
Awesome!
I think the movie with my fav. 'serious' quotes would be Gladiator ("What we do in life, echoes in eternity") and my favorite comedic quotes would definitely be Austin powers. "I'm so sexeh, I want you in ma belleh!".
+1 on Dumb & Dumber. I think I saw that 12+ times in the theater the first 2 months it was out.
"Radio, who needs a radio? You ready Harry?"
"MOCK"
"YEAH!"
"ING"
"YEAH!"
"BIRD"
"YEAH!"
"YEAH!"
"YEAH!"
Matthew Quigley: I don't know where we're goin', but there's no sense bein' late.
MajorAshley-Pitt: In our experience, Americans are uncouth misfits who should be run out of their own barbaric country. Matthew Quigley: Well, Lieutenant... MajorAshley-Pitt: Major. Matthew Quigley: Major. We already run the misfits outta our country. We sent 'em back to England.
Matthew Quigley: Lady, you're about a half a bubble off plumb, and that's fer sure and fer certain.
