What is the maximum 'safe' ISO for the Canon XC10?

I wanted to know what everyone thinks is the safest recommended ISO for the Canon XC10. I used it for a wedding video, but it got a lot of grain on the image because I used an ND filter. My boss said that because I used an ND filter, it meant I had to overcompensate for the ISO quite a bit which added grain to the shot.

According to the ebu measurements PDF:
Resolution drops considerably at the higher speed settings, so speeds higher than about ISO1600(19.5dB) gain) ought not to be regarded as full HD even though the noise level is acceptable.

Is it really noticeable to non-pixelpeepers? I mean has anyone had a look at HD 50/60p at 2000-6400 iso? Can you see a real difference?

Yes the autofocus is much faster on the upgrade. The upgrade doesn't change the lowlight abilities. The upgrade improves the auto focus speed, adds shutter speeds 1/25 and 1/50 and also adds an MP4 35mbps recording mode.

Thanks for the reply. As far as I understand the firmware has improved the lowlight in HD. In the Newsshooter website they claimed the lowlight had improved but they didn't actually have any images to show.
It's be interesting to find whether the lowlight has improved or not with some tests. It's a camera that really interests me but the lowlight ability is what holds be back from buying one.
