Phil Bloom had an article that I read a while back dealing with the future of DSLR:
http://philipbloom.net/2010/08/13/the-future-of-video-dslrs/
Anyway, in that he mentions a $2000 Sony camera with interchangable SLR lenses. He says it has none of the features we want... what does that mean?
i am focusing on documentary work for the time being and kinda laying my narrative stuff off to the side for a while. so the 12 minute limit is kinda more trouble than its worth. i am a one man team and remembering to go over every 12 minutes and hit record again is a bummer when i am also the one conducting the interviews... anyway, so the idea of a video camera (especially with mic inputs) that give shallow DOF without a time limit is appealing but i just would like to know why that sony is not the answer... sure the panasonic looks great but i doubt i can handle $6000 right now...
Also, are there any other cameras that have this concept that I need to keep an eye out for release dates?
I did see that Nikon just released a DSLR with 20 minute time limits...
