CS-2 came out much later than the CS3
The CS-3e, I thought, is a relatively new model. I know it replaced the original CS-3. I thought it also took over for the CS-2.

I just checked in with Martin Ucik, General Manager for Sanken America/plus24 (323-845-1171, email martin@plus24.net) and he stated that
the CS-2 is still available. B&H is in the process of correcting their website. What has been discontinued is the $200 instant rebate, which lead to the confusion.
The CS-2 was released in 2010 as the latest addition to the popular Sanken shotgun line to fill the gap between the earlier CS-1e and CS-3e models. The
CS-2 has a narrow pickup patter in the mid and high frequency range and is especially suited for recording clear dialog from larger distances and in
noisy environments. It is short enough to fit on a camera or can be used on a boom. For more information on the complete Sanken line
