It is for using a 35mm adapter with the camcorder. 35mm adapters flip the image so you will see the image upside down. By fliping the viewfinder you will see it right side up.

ah ok =)
but.. Do you really have to f**k up your camera to use the 35 mm ? SOunds kinda annoying and not very ideal !
Also the viewfinder is the LCD screen right? :p

no, the viewfinder is the viewfinder, the lcd is the lcd :) so there isnt much puropse in flipping the viewfinder.

The viewfinder is located on the back of the camera and is basically a smaller LCD screen but somewhat higher resolution.

Oh, about monitors ; Can someone give me a priceo n what the cheapest HD monitor out there is? Heard some great stuff about JVC ones.
They don't have to be that big in size, I belive 15'' is normal=?

I'm assuming you're talking about LCD portable field monitor. And 15'' is pretty big for that class. The new Ikan V8000HD 8'' monitor for $750 is pretty much the cheapest option. The current gold standard is the Marshall V-R70P-HDAhttp://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/391161-REG/Marshall_VR70PHDA_V_R70P_HDA_7_LCD_Monitor.html7'' for $1300.
