Well at least 100% of DVX users will actually look at this post for once, will be funny to see how many views it gets. Anyway.

I kind of forgot about this camera. It is clearly in the DSLR camp of filmaking. After all the waiting and realising the Scarlets are now expensive to properly kit out and the fixed is about as unobtrusive as a rocket launcher I wonder if this is an option. I think alot has happened in the last 12 months though and maybe this concept is now obsolete. What do you think? I love the retro styling.

its a shame the chip is so small

1080 raw S35 size - or just a bit smaller so a DSLR 11 or 14 mm lense gave a wide FOV woud be great

Price is acceptble for RAW 1080 - in fact to 1080 60p raw its awesome

I guess you need a box to record to

I guess the thing is still beta

This is the cam I am watching right now. Even if the sensor is only S16 there are alot of possibilities with this cam. I like that it is RAW 12 bit. I like the fact that I can get S16 lenses cheaper than 35mm primes. This could be the camera that gives the SCARLET some competition. And its about $10,000.00 Complete ready to shoot, not bad. Miss SCARLET when you gonna make an appearance?

Even if Red eclipses this camera I feel it does something the Red camp needs to learn from Iconoskop in that the camera seems user friendly, all in one design striaght out of the box with a lens etc. I mean a Red EVF is 3,300 dollars just for starters and I think they're confusing the lower/middle end of the market that they seem to be going for with the Scarlet. The Red is taking modulisation (not a word probably) too far. I was looking at the older version of the Scarlet and thought it looked more user friendly with a handgrip already attached more like a DSLR. Now its starting to look like an industrial disaster.

+1 on everything, especially the cheaper S16 lenses.

It is a great camera, but for those who think something has been left out, here is the other Swedish model. I'd like one of each please.

The old 'tell them it's a 70's swedish model then bait-n-switch em with the AcamDII trick' eh.

That camera looks cool just wish we could move on from usb2.0. Bring on eSata for the love of god.

EDIT: check out this link from the AcamdII site. This footage is stunning. http://www.vimeo.com/7126893

This is it for me too. Haven't kept my eyes off it in more than a year. This is it for me to tell the truth, Haven't really found a package out there I like more, I'm quickly getting over an excess in Shallow DOF, and am starting to get attached to lighting, so the sensor size isn't too much a problem for my tastes. I have my dslr's for that fast 50 shot every once in a while.

you will be hearing from my lawyers ...tracking ip number now .....enhance ... oh its you never mind !
