What do you drive?

yeah ... people still drive their SUVs because they can't afford to get rid of them. Car dealers are jacking up the prices on small cars and offering pennies for SUVs........

Hmmmm, I just bought a brand new 4 Runner 6 months ago and I love it. Other then a Ferrari I wouldn't trade it for anything else. Different strokes for different folks.

If I had the money I would totally go out an buy an RV or something that is really cheap at the moment. Then, when gas prices go down, I could sell it for profit or use it for myself at a great deal.

2001 Mitsubishi Mirage...Hunter Green...not bad mileage and storage space is about what it looks like. It is a 4- door though.

2007 Ford Focus SE. Love the 34mpg highway, plus tons of trunk room.

We are thinking about getting a Focus to compliment the SUV and Trans Am. I hate taking the TrailBlazer when it is just me because of the gas mileage, and I refuse to drive the T/A to certain places. The Focus is a good car with good gas mileage that we could use for trips where we don't need to haul a bunch of stuff/people and I don't want to take the muscle car.

VW dealer called yesterday with our VIN number. We are now guaranteed that we will have one of the first 25 Bluetec SportWagens to hit the USA.

Awesome. Except for the bad news...

The US EPA has lowered the highway on this car to 44 from 60mpg in ROW - that pisses me off. However, the dealer tells me that, based upon the two tanks of bio they've run through their demo-mule in the past month, that they're achieving over 52mpg. The truth is probably somewhere between.

Still, I'm a 100% proponent of diesel as at least a stopgap to getting off of foreign oil and cleaning ourselves up environmentally. 2nd generation biodiesel and ethanol (assures no food-based fuels) will ease the strain on the world food markets.

Watch as VW (and a few others) introduces hybrid-Tdi cars as early as 2010 model year. 80+mpg stated mileage in their test vehicles.
