What do you do besides filmmaking, and how do you have time for it?

Read a lot.
Astronomy and Astrophysics.
Space Shuttle launch road-trips.
Drink.

Excellent!! I have yet to see a launch but it is on my list for some day. Spend a lot of free time, of which there isn't a lot, absorbing as much as I can about the universe; I'm especially fascinated with pulsars.

Other than that...
Sound recording and design
Attempt to make music
work on new stories for film or otherwise
Read
Listen to political and scientific (and other as anyone who is familiar with the following intellectuals will know) commentary by Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, Lawrence Krauss...
Take long walks on the be...wait that's for the classified ad

I play guitar, bass and sax.
I've been a martial artist (all kinds of ****) for about 23 years.
Still photography.

What!?!? No mention of drinking?

I guess some things become such an important part of life that you don't even think about them...like breathing.

I'm president of our local Orienteering club.
That's my main hobby and along with actually competing it consumes most of my available free time.

Occasionally I try and make a short narrative film with extremely limited practice and know how, usually in a 24 hour film making contest. It sort of appeals to my competitive nature, almost like an artistic sports event.

Skateboarding concrete parks.

And recently, I've been building a model railroad in our basement. We're gonna need a bigger basement.

I just started playing xbox again and I can't stop. so I guess that is a hobby until next month when I start to hate it again.

I have a 9 to 5 but for the last year or so they have made me the resident video guy. So I shoot most of the time when I am at work. Leave early to go home and edit. So it aint a bad gig. And I have two little ones so a lot of my time is spent running after them if I'm not a some dance school somewhere.

I plan my next shoot.

Seriously, I shoot music videos, avoid playing video games since I have an obsessive personality (and yes avoiding playing videogames can be a hobby in and of itself), write short stories and my novel, and paint with acrylics/oils and photoshop. I also sleep whenever I get a chance.

The only time I pick up a camera is when I make a short film for DVXFest or the odd local festival.

Aside from that I spend just about every spare moment with my wife and six year old daughter. My wife works odd shifts so most of it is spent with my daughter.
The rest of my spare time is used watching movies, playing/building my new Home Theatre and a little xbox time if I'm really lucky. :)

A good book will fill in some late nights since I don't tend to sleep very much.

Judging by the quality of films you make I find it hard to believe that you never pick up your camera. You Lie Horrigan. YOU LIE!!!:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I'll take that as a compliment.

Nope, unless I'm doing a short film I don't even touch it. My wife hates it because I don't tend to shoot home videos either.
I did crack it open for the first day of school though after much harassing on her part. :)

This is purely a hobby for me. One that I really enjoy though. If I used my camera all the time I would probably hate it.
That's just me.

I practice parkour and go backpacking with my dog. I usually go backpacking right before shooting a movie, helps me be refreshed and ready to go. As for parkour, well, my movies feature it extensively so I end up having to train the actors anyway.

I'm president of our local Orienteering club.

I tried to join one of these clubs once but I couldn't find the office...

I work a job that has me on the road a lot of the time but I try to squeeze in some guitar and video games when I have some downtime that doesn't involve my camera. I have to feed my inner 14 year old to keep the grumpy old man with adult responsibilities at bay.

Ghostbuster sans weapon ???

What IS that - really.

Ghostfinder? Ghostwatcher? Ghostbotherer?

I try to get my wife to make love to me...that usually takes up 364 days out of the year.
