What Do You Call the Motion Graphics Intros at Show Starts?

I swear there is a technical name for it. At the beginning of TV shows there is a 20-30 second segment that shows the credits and talent...usually with elaborate special effects and motion graphic work. What is that called?

I'm kicking myself for not knowing this term but it's important that I know it and don't know where to look!

If opening credits entails those flashy motion graphic, "color corrected to look cool" segments then yes! For example for CSI they play a The Who song...I guess it's like the theme song for CSI at this point, lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn-HzDyRwac - here it's just labeled "intro". Opening credits sounds right but I hope others can verify this!

Err...now I found out it may officially/also be called an Opening Title Sequence. Or Title Credit Sequence....hmm.

6 of 1. It may even be called the open, for short.

And the cold open is the brief scene before the opening credit sequence.

In live production it's often called just the "open" to keep things short and concise on coms...

"take 2 with the headlines"
"go graphic"
"standby open"
"roll open, take!"
"1 next, 15 left in the open"
"10"
"5, 4 -ready 1- 2, 1, take 1"

Not much time for long-winded terms there!
