What Do I Need?

Hi,

I decided to buy a DVX100 for a film me and my brother are going to start shooting. However, me and him are new to semi-pro technical aspects such as lenses and was wondering if you guys at dvxuser could help.

I wanted to know what lenses are essential for filming an independent film, and what lenses aren't necessarily essential, but are a good accessory. I was looking at the Letus35 Extreme as well but wanted to know if it is compatible with the DVX100 and what else I would need to use the Letus on the DVX100.

Do I need anything else such a mounting system or something when I buy lenses for the DVX100? Are there any other accessories or essentials I need, other than lenses?

THanks Alot!

I have the Extreme with the 100a as well. You would need a rail system, At least 3 lenses: 50mm, 85mm, and 28mm just to start. I really nice Tripod not a cheap sunpak. I would say At the absolute least a Bogen 503 head and some nice sticks. Just to get started. A follow focus, Good Monitor, mattebox, etc are great to have but not a necessity AT THE START. But please be aware that the $1300 you pay for the Adapter can Quickly turn into $6000 and that is finding deals. Check out ebay, www.indifocus.com for the rails and www.keh.com for the lenses. Or if you have money to burn and want the "best" www.zacuto.com

Where can I find a monitor compatible with the DVX100 that can be hooked up to the rail system or something. I'm not sure but I have seen pictures of a monitor hooked to the camera on the tripod. I think it is called a Field Production Monitor. I cant seem to find matteboxes for the DVX100 either.
