Is mpeg4 35 mbps at 60P the best setting? I would be filming interviews, documentaries, and wildlife. Would I notice any difference between mpeg4 and avchd in highest settings? thanks for your experience and advice.
Personally I think MP4 35mbps at 60p is a little on the low side bitrate-wise. Especially for high-motion, I feel like it just doesn't hold up all that well compared to the 24p or 30p frame rates. (Speaking from experiences using a C100 Mk2). I think you'd be hard pressed to notice the differences between AVCHD and MP4 - use the format that makes more sense to your workflow. For example, MP4s are easier to transfer to computer, but the format splits long takes into separate clips. I like one nice long clip for things like events and interviews, so I use AVCHD for those.
If your timeline is 60p you should record 60p (60p is smoother than 30p or 24p)
If your timeline is 30p you should record 30p
If your timeline is 24p you should records 24p
If your timeline is 30p slowmotion you should record 60p
