What camera? What lens? (Just for fun!) This was a VERY QUICK/SHORT effort...please forgive the OVERLY DRAMATIC MUSIC...

Enjoy! (I'll reveal what camera/lens later this week) We'll see if anyone is surprised? :)

Really hard to judge in this case due to the very deep DOF in all the shots. This isn't a bad thing from a visual standpoint, but once you stop down to f/8 or greater it's hard to tell lenses apart in a blind test. I'm assuming its a DSLR since this is posted in the DSLR section. On Youtube you say that this is a new camera, a "demo" and you couldn't have gotten this footage with any other camera/lens combo. To be honest, I think you could have gotten this footage with any number of camera/lens combinations - and/or camcorders - I think you could have easily done this with something like a Canon HV40 or equivalent. But you say it's a new camera that you're demoing so I'm gonna guess GH2 w/either the 14-42mm lens or the 14mm f/2.5 pancake. With such deep DOF it's really hard to tell - especially with a youtube video - if you were shooting wide open that'd be easier as you'd be able to pick out more of the lens signature and unique look...but when you're stopped down to f/8+ it's hard to tell. If you were shooting super-wide it's possible that you weren't stopped down very much and you'd still get this really deep DOF - still doesn't look like f/2.5 to me at 14mm but I could be wrong. I think this footage could potentially all be the 14mm pancake but man that lens would have to close-focus to like...3" for that to be the case and that doesn't seem likely.

Hey Thisisapocolypse! BTW...I'm a fan of your anamorphic shooting. I can't wait to see your film when it's done. :) If you guys haven't see his stuff posted so far...you've got to see it...it's beautiful stuff. Rather inspiring infact.

Thanks for taking time to take a close look. TRUE...lots of deep field. TRUE...shallower would have given a better look at it. To be honest, it's posted here because I didn't know where else to post it. :( It seems like we're not going to have too many others guess...so I'll do the "big reveal now"....(that's just for you and I Thisisapocalypse) Drum roll please!

This is the new Canon S95. :) http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/PS95/PS95A.HTM

The reason I shot with this camera, and the reason that I will shoot with it more than any other camera in my arsenal....is because....it's always in my pocket. ~LITERALLY~ How many times have I been driving down the road, and thought, "DANG!! I wish I had my camera with me!!" Now...that is a reality. In fact, I have some pretty cool footy that is the result of my pulling off the freeway at an exit and pulling this bad boy out and shooting away. It's NOT a DSLR replacement...BUT....it's also NOT a disposable camera either. I suspect that we're going to see some pretty cool stuff with these little guys. I WILL NOT use this camera IN PLACE OF ~ANY~ of my DSLRs....I will use it in situations where I just don't have one with me....which is pretty much ALL THE TIME...unless I'm heading to a shoot. :)

Here's some other stuff from the Canon S95....just some one else shooting around...pretty impressive stuff I tell ya. OH YA...one other reason why I posted it here in this area of the forum, ....I think THIS IS the user base that it will interest. It DOES NOT shoot like a video camera....it shoots like a DSLR. Alot like the D90 infact, (yucky I know)...but it's true. Thanks again for taking time!

Here some more footy from other users:

I guess I should include some reasons why this camera is for "DSLR" users. The lens is a 28-105 F2.0-3.3(?)...pretty amazing really. A REALLY cool feature is that it shoots 24P. Most shoot 30P at this size...so 24P out of the box is GREAT. NO MANUAL control SUCKS...however...it has exposure compensation that works more like manual control that anything I've ever seen (that wasn't manual control). Along with Macro focus mode, it's not too shabby for a "simulated DOF". You can see me using it in my vid...NOT GREAT...but better than anything else that small. It has some other "cheesy" modes like miniature/tilt-shift as see here: http://www.vimeo.com/15476739 It's out of the box...so ...not great...but fun anyway. I'll shoot some stuff and post it here one of these days from the LX5...TRULY impressive camera and the S95's better half. Manual control with wider 24mm lens...but it's 30p... :( I'll shoot some stuff and let you all decide which is best for you. The S95 has put a smile on my face on more than one occasion...it surprised me...and this much power in my pocket for less than 400usd...ain't to shabby! Mad love to DVXUSERS everywhere!
