What are some of the best or most reliable SDHC 32GB Class 10 SDHC card for my EX1 with the latest (I blieved 1.2) firmware? I have been using SanDisk 16GB Class 6 fine for the last couple years. However, I have not tried a 32GB SDHC at all.
I use 2 SanDisk 32GB Extreme Class 10 cards with my EX1. I've always used Sandisks and never had an issue, and I think the general consensus on the forums, review sites, etc is that Sandisk is the best. I even occasionally use Sandisk 16GB Ultimate Class 4 cards with the EX1.
I have ten or so Patriot LX Pro 32GB class 10 that I use in Sonnet SDHC to SXS adapters and they all work fine. You want to find class 10 cards that were made by reputable manufacturers and sold through legit retail lines (no eBay) so that you aren't getting fakes.
What about Lexar Professional? Has anyone used it before without issues? By the way, thanks! I may stick with SanDisk but just wondering about other brand.
I used Lexar in the past, CFs... and we dont trust those anymore.
A few Transcend 32G Class 10s are very common and pretty good bang for the buck. They have a lifetime warranty, and I have had no issues with my cards.
SanDisk are the cream cards, but almost double the price.
I have a Lexar Professional SDHC class 10 32GB 133x Speed. It has worked admirably. The only thing I dislike, is the 'lock' or 'protect' switch on the side is looser than other cards I've used, and has been switched by accident.
But this is better than 32GB Class 10 Transcends. I have had 2 out of 5 32GB Class 10 Transcends* die on me. So, I do not use them anymore.
(unrelated, if you are ever buying cards for dslr's like t2i, 60d, d7000, etc, the PNY 16GB class 4 cards are the best bang for your buck. They've been working for me for years. I had buffer issues with some Transcend class 10's, but never any issues with PNY 16GB class 4's. *Don't buy the class 4 32gb though, that is crap for video dslr. )
*Transcend honored the warranty, but I will not buy that model again.
My most reliable SDHC cards are 16gb Transcend (have about 10). Most NOT reliable have been Patriot. Use the MxR adapter. I realize the variables include
1.. Which batch your SDHC card was made from (some of the later Trancends had problems and reports of not-so-good SanDisks are circulating).
2... Which Flash34 Reader/Adapter you are using with which card.
3... Which Firmware your camera has.
4... If you have a legit branded card and not a counterfeit.
Once we get this all figured out, we'll be off to some other format... Hahaha..
